Abba Neutral Newbie October 26, 2008 Share October 26, 2008 I dunno about sonar 680 but so far the SONAR tyres I have seen have marking M+S on the sidewall; Mud + Snow?!? these tyres are designed for specific applications and lower temperature. Cannot remember the model of Sonar tyres I tried on a friend's car but the grop was seriously lacking especially in the wet. ↡ Advertisement

Doug Neutral Newbie November 5, 2008 Share November 5, 2008 (edited) I tried Falkens ONCE only. Wear out fast & noise becomes loud very quickly . Lasted me abt 2 years b4 I had to change them. Michelin r a very good & reliable brand. Been around for maybe 50-60 years already so they must b doing something right. I prob stick to Michelin for now cos I prefer value for money. PS. Used them up & down Cameron & on the NSH several times. Never let me down. I got my fren to put Pilot Preceda 2 on his Evo 9. After he tried so many tires, he was surprised how good they r for just a few dollars more. Dont go for flashy advertising on the "aggressive" thread patten or "sportiness" of some of those "sports" tires. Most were a real let down in terms of reliability, durability & performance Think you gotta add about 100 years to your number as Michelin started up in around 1832...unless you're referring to michelin's presence in Singapore...which would be round about 50 years. Glad to hear that your friend likes the PP2. I'm also on the PP2s at the moment (switched from 2 previous sets of PS2). If he thinks the PP2 is good, then he'll be blown away by the PS2. Of course if you switch the other way around (like me), then you'll be amazed at the PS2-like performance at PP2 price. Fantastic value! Axela72 5th Gear November 5, 2008 Share November 5, 2008 As above. Any quiet tires to recommend for Daihatsu Sirion 1.3? Not fuzzy abt other areas, just looking for a set of quiet tires that hopefully remains quiet with mileage. Now running on stock Yokohoma Aspec 175-65-14. Thank you very much. You can consider Hankook K415, it is OEM tyre on Avante. K415 are really very good especially in the wet. Any idea if compare Hankook K415 vs Bridgestone AR10, which is better off? Fantastic value! =========================== Oh I know Michelin has been around since I was a little boy but I guess they were even around during my grandad's time. My fren & Daughter find the PP2 much quieter than their previous tire(some dunno what Taiwan tire. Nanking maybe?) The earlier tire was driving my daughter bonkers with the humming noise, even when new. So it was changed almost immediately after it was bought. Her BF is not a FnF driver so PP2 was more than enough. PS2 wud have been better but not really necessary & the price was much higher too. No point wasting good money. Now I also considering PP2s on my Optra but the price is quite a bit more than the other decent tires I am considering like DNA db, RE001 V8RS. Plus I dont need such fast tires as I dont really drive fast, but I do appreciate good grip on wet & dry though. Presently on Yoko A drives(205/45/16) & they also have a very decent grip. Im just exploring its potential & the more I push them, the more I like them. Might even consider getting them for my next tire change.
