Gadgeter 2nd Gear October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 I would also stand for what I believe in. But that doesn't mean I should be too liberal with the words I post online. The last thing we would want, is to have a fellow mcfer appearing in papers for the stuff he/she post. Or the worse, being force to shut down. On the whole, everyone just want a place to chill out. And in order for us to maintain such a place, inevitable, we'll need to have some ground rules else things will get messy. Having say so, we know that there people lurking around the forum (being paid to do so) waiting for juicy news to report. We wouldn't want to be out in the papers for -negative reason, do we? Have a good weekend ahead. Cheers
Gadgeter 2nd Gear October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 yes, while everyone have a choice to choose where they want to go (forum), the forum have the choice to choose what is in its best interest. What is deem as okie to a individual, might not be deem as the same for the forum as a whole.
Hishercar Clutched October 10, 2008 Share October 10, 2008 (edited) in any society there is spectrum of people of different personality and stands it is true but some of these people you mention need some other people to voice for them so that we all can have a "fair" life there must be some equality in our society just like our national pledge there is a great difference between the mean or median salary of the general population and our civil servants with high salary and almost gaurantee "rich bowl" even after retirement - see our SAF generals who upon almost retirement are sitting on various GIC boards (these services are not volunters like moderators here), there is an employer - employee responsibility in addition, in the past people go into politics is because they want to serve the people first civil servants are paid so much because they are deem to be able to formula policies for the people if mistakes happens, Oh it is because the general population is too complacent (which is not exactly untrue) in the real world (and not the protected world of the civil services), many would have been showed the DOOR We are trying to be a SIngapore Inc but in reality renumerations are on par with Inc but as to accountability is another issue altogether. The majority of the ministers are doing a good job but there are few that seems to short of the expectation of the public. I hope this is not too political and if moderator deem it is please delete this posting thank you Edited October 10, 2008 by Hishercar
