Not really ex if u compare it with a Jap which requires 5km interval servicing each time abt $200 to $300. Volvo car service inetrval is 15km each time range from $500 to $1,000 depending on type. It is a misconception tha conti cars r ex to maintain that's why Jap car sell so well. In fact, some Jap makes can have pretty expensive spare parts especially with the raising Yen.

i was considering to get a S40 or S60, 3 yr old, before i gotten a new civic earlier this yr..

 

back then, they were selling at 70k+ for a 3 yr old..

 

Ya...great deal. But the servicing part really is a turn off. I browse through VV Forum. General servicing oredi costs 1k+

 

Those major servicing @ critical milage easily 2-3k.
