I drive a 05 mondeo. It's reliable within its warranty period but the usual wear and tear after that is picking at me as my warranty just ended due to my frequent trips up north.

The FC is another prick, though the pinch is not too bad for the moment. The car does about 7-8km/l.

If you're a heavy user, the monthly running cost can be estimated using 7.5km/l with RON95.

A short personal review here. The Mondeo offers fantastic legroom, when compared to the japanese rivals, and nearly matching that of the old passat. Good handling, ok ride, great foam padded panels are some of its positive points.

It's let down by the poor 4 speed automatic, poor throttle response, poor sound insulation and the lack of after market parts. Another big point being there are no workshops in singapore that does the more technical services for the mondeo; ranging from simpler waterpump replacements to labour intensive gearbox overhaul.

Regent staff is friendly, and partially competent in their worksmanship. But let's face it. This is Singapore, where most goes to work, waiting only to knock off.

Servicing costs are ok within the warranty period, but my water pump change costs me about 600bucks, mostly labour, and I had to return again because they did not spot other related issues.

Alright, I've had my say. Let's hope I will not receive a lawyer's letter.

Try checking with Regent motor, which i did...the sales person might not be aware too. Am impressed by Ford honouring their warranty through their booklet.

Can consider Volvo. My SIL kiss the backside of a volvo last week. Her Getz front compress inwards quite jia-lat. Have to be toll away. [:/] The VV's backside only minor scratches, and small-small dents. [shocked][shocked][shocked]

Our Sonata kiss a Altis too. The bumper almost falling off. Back Boot cannot open. [sweatdrop] Heng our car's front bor-thai-chi. Some scratches nia. [laugh][laugh][laugh]
