When to change sparkplugs

Thinking to change sparkplugs on coming 25K servicing. What is the best time (eg. 20K or 30k) to get our sparkplugs replaced.

Standard copper plug can last 20k, so depends on what is your typical servicing period, you can suit the timing. What is your car ?

I replaced to Bosch Platimum Fusion [F1-4, FGR7DQ1] lately for my Tom Yam toyota...

Do felt some differences , better in respond and FC wise.. just a little better for city driving.

Wherelse when drving in the North, gain about 50km more at half fuel tank mark when compare to normal copper plugs...

 

Same plugs goes to Avante 1.6L for my colleagues and having similar feedback.

 

give it a try which last you 100K km mileage.

The market price heard is about range of S$80 to S$100...

I do not about current price since long time did not visit my usual work shop...!

 

For mine, got a extreme good proce from their factory (In overseas)... almost buy 1 get 1 free when compared to local price...

 

Just make sure that the mechanic don't touch your plugs on every servicing after replace to the 100K mileage plugs.

Denso Iridium long life plugs, SK20R11, Iridium with 0.7mm diameter center tip and Platinium coated ground electrode, can also last 100k km

Normal copper, every 20K (no track or racing conditions)

stock plug r cheap and good enough for normal usage. plugs that say it could last for 100k may not really last till 100k. sometimes one may have to change it earlier.

 

so i still prefer stock plug and change every 20K.

 

use cheaper sync oil and change every 5k better than use long OCI oil and change every 20k right?

save the resources and recycle the old sparkplugs... learn how to do gapping for your old sparkplug. Invest $10 on 1 set of gapping tools and another $10 on a sparkplug oppener.... 1 set of copper sparkplug will easily last 100k km. The gapping should be done ideally every 20k km, its eazy as 1,2,3.... just search around google and you can find out how to DIY.

I bought my IK16 from Waterloo Street, Tye Soon. Mazda authorised workshop Shell Proserve also recommended me to use SK series.

 

Anyway, what are the differences between the two, other than replacable at 100k km.

Since Toyota Fielder is a JDM car, it might came with factory fit Denso Iridium plug. If so then you can change the plug at 40k.

Fielder is using the same engine as Allion, my Allion is using Denso Iridium from factory. You might want to check your plug.
