Friedpiggy 2nd Gear December 9, 2008 Share December 9, 2008 Most NGK & Denso plugs cost about $3 ea. The Made in Japan Denso I paid abt $4.50ea for my old Corona. But they were worth every penny. I intend to use Jap made plugs for my Korean Chevy next. A few dollars investment for peace of mind as I intend to keep my car till scrap as what I do with most of my cars. Hiya, where can i get plugs at this price? Can PM me if not convenient to post here. I thought 1 is about $12. ↡ Advertisement
Pisces69 6th Gear December 9, 2008 Share December 9, 2008 I toking about those copper plugs. Not Iridium etc. U can get Jap made from Fong Tat(Denso & NGK) at Serangoon Rd or most GOOD authorised stockist. Tell them u want "Made In Japan" but b careful. Sometimes they think u dont know how to check, they pass off the cheaper plugs as Japan plugs . All the plugs have the word "JAPAN" on them but it does not mean they r made in Japan. U must see the words "Made In Japan" printed on the plug or the box. For Indo,Thai or Korea made, Mostly all auto parts shops carry.
Friedpiggy 2nd Gear December 9, 2008 Share December 9, 2008 okay thanks... I was refering to copper plugs too... I dunt see the need for iridium plugs. So the price for made in japan ones are about 4-5 bucks per piece depending on model correct? Dunt wish to get roberted. Since its so cheap, i wouldnt bother gap my old plugs. I thought copper were 12 and iridiums were 18... haha.
Pisces69 6th Gear December 9, 2008 Share December 9, 2008 I dont bother with re-gaping plugs. The trouble & u also need to gap correctly as it sounds easier than it is really. Plus the crushable washer on the plug is already not so good & u might get leaks. New good fresh Japan made copper plugs r not ex & can easily last 20K km for me so change lah. U can even change every 10K km if u want if u a little kia-su. New plugs sud give u better FC so u actually recover the price of the plugs with lower fuel costs. Ryanyusoff 2nd Gear January 6, 2009 Share January 6, 2009 Corolla fielder. Any good plug to recommend? Since Toyota Fielder is a JDM car, it might came with factory fit Denso Iridium plug. If so then you can change the plug at 40k. Fielder is using the same engine as Allion, my Allion is using Denso Iridium from factory. You might want to check your plug. same here.mine's Airwave.comes stock with Denso Iridium plugs.wanted to change at 20K svc,but was told by the mechanic,it's still 'clean' and can be saved for another 20K.so now waiting for my 40K svc then change.
