Dualie Clutched February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 (edited) Am looking at my option to upgrade to a 7 seater in the next 6 months or so... Test drove and like the Stream RSZ and Touran... Cannot decide... Car will occasionally travel into Msia for trips from 400~1400+km road trip (4~5times per year) Most of the time will be me, wife and 2 kids. Weekend will see 2~3 more adults. The OMV is almost similar at 25~26k and pricing is 77~81k. Expect pricing to drop further down the road... FC is also similiar at 10~12km/l. Will like to hear some opinions... Virginkilla Neutral Newbie February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 Touran a bit overpriced & dated, I personally wil go for stream even thought both models can be mistaken for taxi.

Fcw75 Hypersonic February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 (edited) Touran for me. Road tax is cheap and the TSI engine is in a class of its own, with supercharger and turbocharger. Not forgetting the DSG gearbox...sweet! VW service every 15K only. Never fail to take a second look when a Touran passed by. Stream is too common. Fcw75 Hypersonic February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 (edited) Touran a bit overpriced & dated, I personally wil go for stream even thought both models can be mistaken for taxi. There's a new Touran leh. Dun tink the new model is being used for a taxi...yet. Edited February 4, 2009 by Fcw75
Silver_blade Turbocharged February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 Depend on your priority....road trip more important or ease of people getting into the 3rd row. I would go for the Touran cos it will be less tiring for long drive cos of better seating positing and less engine noise at high speed (lower rev than stream). For style, stream is ahead of Touran. Booboon 1st Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 my vote goes to touran. btw, where is touran assemble?
Chilidawg February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 my vote goes to touran. btw, where is touran assemble? the ones here are made in germany, quite certain bout that. for me, RSZ has only 2 advantages over touran n thats looks n options. price-wise gimme touran anyday. 10k more than the RSZ is quite a no-brainer when u take into account the Ncap rating, sturdy german build, practicality n my 2 most favourite features - DSG & TSI just mho :)

Quirky_ster Clutched February 5, 2009 Share February 5, 2009 cost no object... the choice is obvious.... Touran! While RSZ about to change to 2nd gear, Touran have long gone... stability at high speed, well you can sing at 160km/h... It's the Golf GT engine in 7 seater body... Taxi? what car not a taxi these days. Another true value for money and worth considering is the Opel Zafira! Heard can be gotten for under 70K. Can also say bye bye to RSZ at traffic light and very well made in Germany as well. Cruise very well at high speed too... The only problem would be you need get used to the MTA which could be the best or worst thing for you to have.. But once you know how to handle that, it's another sweet drive MPV with so much better FC than Mazda. Comparing Touran vs RSZ, I doubt it's an apple-to-apple comparison... Stream to Wish to Mazda is more comparable... Touran vs Zaffy vs Picasso vs 308SW is in a different class MPV. Interestingly, due to currency exchange, these cars prices did not differ too far off. So can understand the comparison. Good Luck! I'm waiting to break even on my current ride to move on to Touran!
Akula Turbocharged February 5, 2009 Share February 5, 2009 Btn these 2, will take the Touran over the Stream, by the simple fact that there's just to many Streams running around. Not that it means that the Touran is a looker. Mazda 5/Zafira are 2 very credible alternatives.
Gizmo Clutched February 5, 2009 Share February 5, 2009 Turbo versus N.A, you decide. I'm not sure how turbo servicing will be. But the price and German quality is a + point.

Neokn Neutral Newbie February 5, 2009 Share February 5, 2009 Basic requirement for 7 seater for me if I want to upgrade. 1. Ease of access for my elderly parents and kids - sliding door 2. Leg room in 3 row - 2nd round can be adjusted accordingly 3. Comfort level for all my passengers for long distance travel - 4. Storage space 5. Safety - Must have 6. Power - Optional 7. Cruise control - Good to have when travel long distance 8. Price - Subjective
Neokn Neutral Newbie February 5, 2009 Share February 5, 2009 Test driven the Exiga normal version before. IMHO, good space and power but price on the high side and no sliding door. Storage space is ample.

Heard many people with sliding door ( Mzd 5 ) hit it against the car park wall... Over the top... Chrysler Voyager.. the road tax will drown you though... :) *** Hope no one will think I work for AE ( Opel AD ) ***** ↡ Advertisement
