Denosha Neutral Newbie February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 Not had a chance to use many tires extensively but here are my $0.02 anyway: Continental CSC - Dry grip is pretty good, wet grip is not very good. Quite noisy. Wears out quite fast. Michelin Pilot Preceda - Dry and wet grip are very good. Not very noisy. Didn't have a chance to use them until they wore out so can't comment on their durability. Bridgestone RE050A - Dry grip is excellent. Wet grip is very good. Very noisy, the tire roar at highway speeds is loud. Wore out quite fast. Goodyear Eagle RS Sport - Just changed only. Haven't broken them in or had a chance to push them yet. Will report back after a few weeks. Thread pattern is very aggressive though. :p ↡ Advertisement
Tkseah Turbocharged February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 (edited) My very limited layman experience on my current one n only ride.. Hankook K702 - came with car, generally ok in dry & wet, changed to NCT5 when upsized rims.. Goodyear NCT-5 - worse than K702. ok in dry, skidded on wet few times, changed to GR80 cos me chicken.. Bridgestone GR80 - nice & quiet.. no problems in dry or wet.. better than both tyres above.. Edited February 10, 2009 by Tkseah

Daryl76 Neutral Newbie February 10, 2009 Author Share February 10, 2009 WOW....how the heck you guys tried so many tires? Old drivers aka driving for over 20 years? Or itchy backside, change tyres every 6months? Are all the tyres used on the SAME car? or different cars over the years? haha cos backside itchy lo.. change here and there cos i use 15" so not very expensive to change, though sometimes i just change tires with my buddies who are on 15" as well.. this is my 9th yr in driving though
Firecman Neutral Newbie February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 My current tyre: Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 - Excellent grip in dry and wet, low noise, comfortable, excellent feedbacks, good treadwear with 30,000 km on it and still looking 'healthy'. The best street tyre I have used so far. But very expensive.

Calvin_ Neutral Newbie March 21, 2009 Share March 21, 2009 i see most of the tyres here are performance tyres. i'm more towards touring/comfy kind. i'm now using Goodyear Eagle LS2000 H2. very decent tyres, and cheap. average grip on dry and wet straightline. when it comes to corner, not so good. gets noisy after 10000km. i'm planning on getting new touring/comfy tyres. any recommendations? Sgcop Neutral Newbie April 2, 2009 Share April 2, 2009 (edited) Bf GoodRich G-force sport> Normal tire, make me total loss.It does gv a fatter look. Rt-215>Not bad, use many set..cheap price is a factor vs the grip.Wet kanna b4 360 degree at +junction.. Rt-615>Dry lose rt-215, wet win.During cornering feel it slipping out..change back to rt-215. A048> Super grip among all tire i use(only few as seen), but the tire wear rate is really wah lao....Price + wear rate of 60 make me sweat so bo bian use back rt-215. Ad07>Also normal use tire.Better then the bf goodrich. Current use the cheap cheap federal 595 semi slick(tire only few days old as cannot find any falken rt for my rim size for 1 week).>sidewall seems to flex when cornering, stright line drag still acceptable lah.(mayb also bcos still less then 200 km).Comparing with other tire of the same size , it seems to be bigger in diameter... Bummer 1st Gear April 3, 2009 Share April 3, 2009 Driving style - occasional spirited driving, especially on the curvy quiet roads north of Mersing and between Kenyir and Gua Musang as well as various other hilly parts of Malaysia. Normal driving in Singapore. 1. Michelin MXV8 - Quiet until 40000km, grip is 3.5/5 dry and 3/5 wet. Quite long lasting. Expensive. Changed at 50000km 2. GR-80 - Quiet until about 30000km then starts to get noisy. Grip is 4/5 dry and 3/5 wet. Tends to tramline on uneven roads. Pulls to one side when hitting standing water at about 100kph. Changed at 50000km. 3. MichelinPP2 (Thai) - Quiet for a performance tire but starts to get noisy after 30000km. Grip is 4/5 dry and 4/5 wet. Changed at 40000km. Expensive. 4. Bridgestone ER300 - Quiet until 35000km. Grip is 4/5 dry and 3/5 wet. Changed at 40000km. 5. Falken ST-115 - Noisy but great grip. Grip is 4.5/5 dry and 4/5 wet. Noisy. Noisy. Did I mention noisy? Wears fast. Changed at 30000km. 6. Continental EcoContact EP - Moderate noise. Grip is 3/5 dry and 2.5/5 wet. Wears slow. Changed at 60000km. 7. Hankook K415 - Quiet with grip 4/5 dry and 3.5/5 wet. Only 2000km so far so not very valid.

Junatan Neutral Newbie April 8, 2009 Share April 8, 2009 Have tried the following tyres: 1. Yoko Aspec Db - Quiet but poor grip. 'Drifted' unintentionally during raining days. Changed tires after 10,000km cos was chicken I'll get into an accident. Grip 1/5 2. ST 115 - Good grip but super noisy! wears out quite fast though. Grip 4/5 3. Falken 512 - Average performance and wears out pretty fast. Grip 2/5 4. BF Goodrich G-Force - Bang for your buck tires. It took forever to wear it down and even when I sold off my rims after the 40k mark, it still had good thread on it. A little noisy but it has pretty gd grip. Grip 3.5/5 5. Yoko A-Drive - Most balanced tire I've tried. Gives decent grip but yet is pretty quiet and comfortable. Have been using in current ride to 45k mark, starting to get a little noisy. Looking to change at 50k mark and considering Hankook V8, GY Revspec RS02 or Yoko S-Drive as replacements. The GR80, RE001 and PP2 are all out of my budget. Grip 3/

Using the same set. Same grievances. Cornering is quite bad when wet. Make u-turns/sharp right turns can fishtail. Approaching 20kk and the side wall for front left is experiencing abnormal wear. Hopefully can find one good grip when wet and not that noisy. Don't mind paying a tad more.
