Fatal accident near Bedok Reservoir this morning

There was a small traffic jam along Bedok North Road near the junction with Bedok Reservoir Road this morning and I could see flashing blue lights ahead of me. At first, I thought it was just a routine accident but as my car got closer, I saw a wrecked bike and a body lying under a white plastic sheet on the road divider. Mr TP seems to be gawking at the corpse.

 

This is the first time I have seen a fatal accident and it is quite unnerving. I must say Bedok North Road is condusive to speeding and even the lorries are 2F2F sometimes. Last year, there was even a Kangoo sized van that lost control while cornering and went into the drain.

I saw it too.. the police blocked the whole lane. Thought it was a road block as there are the WRX and TP there. Not sure it clashes with what but did saw a Stream in front of the accident.

 

Yup! that road is prone to some speeding..all the way from Bedok north till that traffic light.. the problem is the emerging cars from the left coming out of PIE and most like to swerved all the way to the right lane... This could be the case... though not sure who might be swerving in...

Was coming round the corner from Beok North when I saw the Police...

I also thought it was a TP road block... Unitl I saw 2 plainclothes taking measurement and photos...

 

Bike seem to have graze the Stream and crash into the barrier, some beams of the barrier were broken.

not only that, that road is poorly designed for cars turning right from bedok north into bedok reservoir.

 

essentially due to the r shaped curvature of that road, cars that are on lane 2 turning right most times could not get a clear view of the cars coming straight from the opposite direction. sometimes with buses block our view, it is impossible to see anything at all.

 

some may get lull into a sense of complacency and turn right only to collide with the cars coming straight from the opposite direction. and cars coming in that direction generally have gathered quite a speed because the roads leading up there tend to have very few cars and good for speeding.

accidents unfortunately happen, but when serious and fatal, wtf man. (except for drunk drivers who kill themselves by crashing into wall or tree...those kind i zero sympathy)
