Shull Turbocharged February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 bought a ctn on CNY eve ... only opened the ctn up last night and this was what i found inside ! tin cans are designed to take pressure up to twice of those that your car tire can tahan..if these happens, then there must be some manufacturing flaw in the can.. Happily1986 5th Gear February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 tin cans are designed to take pressure up to twice of those that your car tire can tahan..if these happens, then there must be some manufacturing flaw in the can.. correction, those are aluminium cans. But the tensile strength of aluminium is high. If you compare to your tin can e.g. Jiajia liang teh, you will notice there is no side wielding done which is otherwise seen in the tin can. In fact during the manufacturing process, a machine is used to stretch a aluminium circular base to form a hollow cylinder after which a top is then wielded on after the can is filled. Ysc3 Twincharged February 21, 2009 Author Share February 21, 2009 nope, i bought the ctn on cny eve at night ard 10pm ....and drove it home and left it in the kitchen under the table until 2 nights ago when i finished my last can from another ctn (bought from diff place). so all this while, the cans were under ambient temp whilst in my possession. my guess is this ctn had been damaged for quite some time already as there were no signs of dampness when i bought it on cny eve. i can understand that the can at the side may have been puncture whilst moving and storing. But the two burst cans in the top layer centre is a mystery to me ! the top of the carton was in proper condition as i used the cardboard handle on the top to carry it around too ! but then again, what are the odds of find 4 damaged cans in 1 carton ?? Watwheels Supersonic February 21, 2009 Share February 21, 2009 Maybe cut cost. Buy 24 can and get 4 defected cans free! It could be a malfunction at part of the production line or it could be mishandling. It could be some jokers who mishandled the carton and the 4 cans drop outta box and breaking them, put them back in and use glue to gum the box back. Ysc3 Twincharged February 21, 2009 Author Share February 21, 2009 i ever put a coke in the freezing compartment and totally forget about it... the explosion cause the door to swing open and the plastic panel crack... scientifically speaking, liquid expands when frozen .... causing the coke in the can to expand beyond the confines of the can and then explode when the aluminium looses its integrity and the gas in the drink just bursts out. I ever thot of stomping! this but i think the stomp! replies will not be as supportive as in our car clubs/forums. I used to collect those coke from other countries. Many years back, there is a series with fancy design and the can is smaller than normal size. I place it at the display rack in my room and one night suddenly while sleeping a loud "POP" sound and i got my whole study table full of coke Clear up the mess till 3am. No prize for guessing what happen to the rest unexploded one. But for my case is i kept those for quite some time.... so maybe those already expired. Your case is quite terrible as it is the CNY batch.... imagine a child was holding to the can seconds before it exploded.... Scary
