agree and disagree with that approach...... perhaps im conservatives... that kind of practice to me is like stretching to the limit.. very small window for hiccups and assuming everything is smooth sailing for many years ahead...... any hiccups, the owner would be stuck in a deep sh*t where they cant afford to keep and cant afford to sell.... we see many example recently....... [sweatdrop]

Now ppl very optimistic abt their future, salary will increase many times down the road, will get promoted no matter what, no illness etc. I come across ppl that ballot duxton, their salary abt 4k combine, wanna buy 500k plus house, ask them why they say this will motivate them to earn more which in turn improve their standard of living, HDB may also privatize duxton in future, after that older liao sell it off for million and move to a cheaper house and enjoy their retirement fund etc from the profit made. Actually they also got their reason la. Haha

Thats a very reasonable price! [thumbsup]

IMHO, i think prices of jurong east is much higher due to it being 1 MRT station away frm clementi (clementi is another place whereby the price is ridiculous high). Jurong West on the other hand is another 3-4 stops away.

Those units in toh guan area, just behind Jurong IMM.

Those few block of HDB flats near IMM, 4 rooms is already selling at about $300k a few years back. Those further from IMM (meaning nearer to PIE) will be slightly cheaper.

I read somewhere that there are many people can not afford to pay HDB flat but lucky thing is their loan are from HDB, which can drag for years before they really chase you out. One of the couple interview, only earn $2k a month (combine income) and they also buying a 5 rooms flat [sweatdrop]. In the end, they have to get HDB's help to downgrade to 3 rooms. [speechless]

HDB pricing is crazy. If i gonna 700K for my home, I'd rather be staying in a 3 bedroom condo unit at Bt batok or CCK or even Lakeside [thumbsup]

A report released on the Department of Statistics website showed 39,935 babies were born in 2008, up marginally from the previous year.

It is the highest number of births since 2002, when there were 40,760 babies born, but remains well short of the number needed for population levels to remain stable without measures such as increased immigration.

Singapore needs a fertility rate of 2.1 babies per woman so that the population can replace itself naturally, the government has said.

The government has implemented several measures, including financial incentives, to encourage married Singaporeans to have more babies but these have failed to make a significant impact.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong last year unveiled plans worth more than S$700 million that include the extension of government
