Sallyril Neutral Newbie July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 Have been driving an Edix since Oct 2006.Pearl White. Got it from Pinnacle Motors. No problems with delivery of car and was delivered as promised within 2 months. Could have gotten earlier but had opted for Pearl White hence waited abit longer as there was none in stock. One of the best cars(to me) I have driven. Its a 1.7 and what I love is the space that the Edix provides and comfort level is . Current mileage is over 70 000 km and never had a single problem with the car besides the batt when dead when I forgot to switch on the cabin lights...TWICE! As car is on the heavier side, I think ard 1.3 tonne, its super steady when travelling at high speed, 110km/h onwards esp when on NSW. Obviously downside is the pick-up power for a 1.7 but heard than the 2.0 has a greater pulling power. But let me tell u whats great abt this car. Its interior space it offers. The 3 by 3 seating arrangement is one of the most unique and offers alot of options. My wife practically sits next to me all the time. And we plan that when we have a kid, he/she would also sit in front so easier for her to tend to the baby. She doesnt like to be in a saloon car and having to sit at the back with the baby and with me all alone in front. I had 6 full grown adults sit in my car and was a joy to coz we also had space for the shopping bags. One of my neigbour who is driving a Mazda 5 reckons his car wont be able to achieve it as if we had 6 in his car, then he would have to sacrifice the boot space to fit in a passenger therefore not much space for the shoppping bags. All i can say that the boot space for the Edix is Huge. And the last row is practically for kids. Leg room for rear passenger of the Edix is big! And not to forget it wont be so cramped up as the Edix has a slightly bigger width. But with a bigger width do not be afraid of parking space. U will be able to slot into any lot with ease. Easy breezy. In short, If given a choice I would go for the 2 litre but its almost 3 years now and there is nothin for me to complain much abt the car, and yah FC is around 11-12km/l (70% highway 30% city

Skunk Clutched July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 And we plan that when we have a kid, he/she would also sit in front so easier for her to tend to the baby. She doesnt like to be in a saloon car and having to sit at the back with the baby and with me all alone in front. it's not safe to put a kid in the front seats, with or without infant car seat. Do reconsider. Don't play with children's lives.
Friendstar Supercharged July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 i like edix too. very innovative 3x2 configuration. but its quite pricy.
Emils 2nd Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 There are a few 2nd hand Edix being peddled here --> http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/listing...a%20Edix%201.7A :)
Sallyril Neutral Newbie July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 it's not safe to put a kid in the front seats, with or without infant car seat. Do reconsider. Don't play with children's lives. Got airbag. Of course in infant car seat. If sit at the back, also in infant car seat and got into accident, will it be safer?

Would recommend the child seat NOT to be in middle at the front. Better to be near the door. As child seat also needs a bit more space. Anyway have not tried putting up child seat at the back row in the middle seat yet.
Skunk Clutched July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 it's the airbag that will kill the child. Yes, if put at rear seats, in infant seat, is safer anytime than in front. http://www.car-safety.org/faq.html#Q45 see Q45. I often see ppl carrying their kids in the car, or worse, seated in front. I hope nothing bad happens, or they'll regret it.
Fourth 2nd Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 Never put infant in the front unless you disable the airbags. I have attached the website fyi. http://www.aap.org/family/Carseatguide.htm Installing car safety seats correctly What you should know about air bags All new cars come with front air bags. When used with seat belts, air bags work very well to protect teenagers and adults. However, air bags can be very dangerous to children, particularly those riding in rear-facing car safety seats and to child passengers who are not properly positioned. If your vehicle has a front passenger air bag, infants in rear-facing seats must ride in the back seat. Even in a relatively low-speed crash, the air bag can inflate, strike the car safety seat, and cause serious brain and neck injury and death. Vehicles with no back seat or a back seat that is not made for passengers are not the best choice for traveling with small children. However, the air bag can be turned off in some of these vehicles if the front seat is needed for a child passenger. See your vehicle owner
Skunk Clutched July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 still, whenever possible, it's always safer for a child to be at the rear seats rather than front seats. I was never allowed to sit in front until i was around 16 years old.

Princey_anne 1st Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 I love my Edix, had it since June 2006. It is a great ride, joy to drive, I dun really use the middle seat and only drove 3 times in full capacity. As it is such a nice ride, I can't bear to change it. Was hoping they produce this as a better looking car for the next facelift as the current look bulky. more like a van. Hoping it can be as sporty look as the Stream where Odyessy is also following suit on their latest rollout . ↡ Advertisement
