Philosurfer 1st Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 Just bought a 2nd hand edix not long ago. It's a 2L version and returning about 10km/l which is about average for the K20 engine. The edix is all about the 3x2 concept. If you've 2 kids + parents to ferry, it's the perfect vehicle as it allows you to stash all the baby barang barang. Traditional 7 seaters all have a passenger/boot space dilemma when fully loaded. I know I'll be keeping the car for the full 10 years, it is that good. Contax 1st Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 i like edix too. very innovative 3x2 configuration. but its quite pricy. Honda did not invent it , the fiat has it on the multipla since 1998 .There are currently 6 multipla running ard in spore .All manual transmission . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Multipla Not too long ago I test drived a used blue multipla in turf city , I was overwhelmed by the width but if not because of the wifey who prefer auto gear , I would have bought it . Lovely .
Fitmugen 5th Gear July 19, 2009 Share July 19, 2009 Just sold my 3-year old 1.7l edix. Still miss it... I always wonder why anyone would buy a Wish or Stream over Edix. The Edix can seat 7 persons (3 front 4 back) and still have a huge boot space. Wish/Stream with all 7 seats taken will leave no boot space. Only gripe is that it is underpowered. Think 2.0 version would be great. Sold mine as I am driving a lot nowadays and comfort/power is rather important

Wang2inc Neutral Newbie July 20, 2009 Share July 20, 2009 Bros, me owner of a Honda Edix 2.0 version and with CNG for 1 year exactly (Road tax expires today haha). My thoughts, this is a car that drives very smoothly, and has been problem free to me, even with CNG fitted. However the car is not as quiet as those large conti cars like Camry, etc etc. When revving can hear the distinct Honda sound which btw is sweet sounding to me :) Note, never change this car tyres to Goodyear F1, it will roar until you cannot take it. I switched to Michellin and everything smooth again. And, when fully loaded with 6 persons and 90KG CNG tank, the car still can climb up Genting. Although u can feel the strain... On petrol of course! Climbing up hills u will be able to feel a wee bit of drag, but otherwise this car is smooth and fast. Maybe body heavy? Next, the seating capacity is fantastic. The front middle seat is always occupied by my girlfriends. Which is good coz no gear or hump or anything to block her way la... So can snuggle up and blah blah... Gf can even lie down on both seats while driver is driving hehe... And for baby seats, not to worry, the mid seats (front + back) can be pushed back. This is the safety feature implemented by Honda. The boot space is damn big... nothing in its class compares. Well, final verdict.... very high quality make (the hallmark of MIJ Hondas), smooth K20A DOHC i-VTECengine, very reliable and fuel consumption is in fact not that high. The best you can get out of a Honda. Works extremely well with CNG too.

Amortifiedpenguin Clutched July 20, 2009 Share July 20, 2009 So can snuggle up and blah blah... Gf can even lie down on both seats while driver is driving hehe... hmm...never really thought about THAT. anyway, noob alert- i never knew the honda edix could seat 2+driver infront. cooooool! at 109bhp/ton and 188 Nm of torque 0-100 in 11s for the 2.0L variant its pretty sweet. FC? onemotoring states 13.0km/L.

Redstorm 1st Gear July 20, 2009 Share July 20, 2009 I have seen a number of Edix on the roads and they are all black. I see two everyday, parked in the open air carpark infront of my block and they are black too. I have never seen an Edix other than black color. Don't they come in other colours too? Just curious. Atrecord Supersonic July 21, 2009 Share July 21, 2009 (edited) I think there must be a reason why there is only one notable model on the road now that has a 3+3 seating combination. If such a combi is widely accepted, then i'm sure the other brands will also make similar cars. if you ask me, i think the car companies are trying to make the drivers feel privileged, so the seat is comfortable, with all the gadgets nearby, etc. only one front passenger can share this, and there must be good/comfortable space for those in front. Imagine if someone needs to ferry colleagues or other acquitances often, do you feel comfortable if one such person (maybe is big-sized somemore) is sitting close to you when you are driving, with his shoulder or thigh touching yours. Note that this scenario is not the same as the bro who appreciates the fact that his GFs can be close to him -- it's the opposite. i remember that when i was a kid (>30 yr ago), the taxis that i took with my whole + extended family, the front row seat is one piece one. Meaning there can be 2 passengers (usually a kid in the middle) besides driver. that trend obviously died away after that. on the reasons for those who chose a stream/wish over edix, i would imagine that they must be going for a bit more comfort, and is willing to sacrifice boot space. if edix takes 6 adults, the front 3 could be too close for comfort (again, i'm not talking about the special cases where this is appreciated). In a mpv, all 6 should still be v comfortable. if not afraid of being too close, then the stream/wish can actually take 7, or even 8/9 persons... having said that, let me qualify by saying that i have no dislike against edix hor. in fact, i considered it before too, but eventually decided that it didn't fit my needs. it obviously has its own unique merits, as is well documented here. Babyt 4th Gear July 21, 2009 Share July 21, 2009 the ideal of 3 seats in a row is good provided that the driver has his own seat and the 2 front passengers share a long seat...just like lorry. ↡ Advertisement
