Fussymi Neutral Newbie July 11, 2012 Share July 11, 2012 Hi meganut, thanks for sharing. Will using non proton parts affect the car warranty? Can you pm me the workshop address and possible with prices too. Thanks!
Iz_Exora Clutched July 11, 2012 Share July 11, 2012 Hi Iz_exora, usually I travel around east and north east and most of the time only two passengers in a car. That's why don't understand why my FC so high Hi Fussymi, if ur comparing with the thread that Exora can go 13.8km/l, yes it is indeed ur FC is high. However, the 13.8km/l which they clocked probably is test driven from point A to point B via an expressway/highway without stopping. Otherwise, in Singapore our ride are driven with trafffic lights, traffic condition frequent stopping and sometimes sudden acceleration. Journey from point A to point B, max may be around 45 - 50km. All this factors do affect the FC. I am not a car guru, just being rational in the environment which we are living. Nevertheless, Sis meganut had share some of the FC improvement tips in the previous threat. Perhaps, you can tag on that to try on..
Meganut 2nd Gear July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 Hi guys, No i doubt air filter will void the warraty of the car... its like saying that oh i use shell brand engine oil and not proton brand engine oil will void my car warranty. Its not a moddification neither its a major change... if they find fault you talk logic to them, ask them is there proton brand batteries? so if you change battery next time to Amaron then void warranty? hehe You can call the hurricane supplier, he will come and change the filter for you, KEEP the oil paper filter, ask him how to change back the filter to paper filter (original filter)... its very easy, like wearing clothes for babies (those got babies knows that wearing clothes for a baby is hard but once master it, its easy peasy.. just learn wher the box is, how to open it... Yes, no doubt... Proton is very strict regarding Warranty. Last time they made noise when I fitted the Power charger and the Earthing wire. I tried to argue back saying that it is better for the vehicle as it will stabilize the Current, but no use. During the Service they spotted i was using HID lights and also my own spark plug. And they entered that into their Computer system also to keep track. Finally I had to change back to the orginal ones inorder to prove to them that I'm using back the orginal ones. All I could agree, but regarding the HID light I was not happy as the Other Car companies may not make a big fuzz of this type of small mods... So totally agree with Meganut. Should be very careful when you bring it for servicing.
Mandrew 1st Gear July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 the smoothness of gear change is expected of a CVT G/box! the less torque on initial move off is expected too on an engine thats not run-in yet......so just be patient you will begin to feel it improve more & more as you drive more & more..... say what you want to say.......the CFE is still my next car option---thanks to the current COE-its now only a dream! Took my BOLD for the 1st 1k service. Indeed there was a problem which contributed less torque for the initial acceleration. I also noticed that the Cruise function was not working and a inbetween jerk while reversing slowly. SC found out that there wasn't any current passing to ECU during initial acceleration. So SC carried out a reset on the ECU. Now the Cruise is working properly as well the initial torque is also good. I'm still monitoring on the jerking during slow speed. Boleh Neutral Newbie July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 Is the jerking only present during reversing? Or is it also there when moving forward slowly? I am collecting my ride soon. Should I just ask them to check the ECU before I collect?
Mandrew 1st Gear July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 I felt both ways.... but very intermittent so didn't care much.... Seems like this is a one off issue and I didn't see anyone complaining about this issue in any other forums. By right, they will be checking all this during QC. Understood from them, that there wasn't any fault code shown for this issue that's why they couldn't locate it. Anyway drive first and you can always get back to SC if there are any issues. Just ensure that the Body shape, Paint and interior are fine during delivery :) The rest always you can go back to them.... (if the problem is minor, you can log the problem earlier via phone and get it done during 1st service) BTW, just to share with you that there is no BOLD emblem at the back for the Singapore release. Initially I was puzzled and called them up to check. Also checked the Test drive unit at the TTS and found it also doesn't have.

Do you need to book beforehand for servicing at TTS? How is their service quality? I'm not too concerned about the badges..in fact, I feel like de-badging all the logos. Question is what can I replace it with? Transformer badge? Some may ask why I wanna de-badge it. Quite simply its because not many people know that Proton has an MPV that can handle so well. I want them to wonder what overtook them at the bends..haa haa!

Come on, it's a MPV, stop treating it like a racing car, drive safely pls. Why can't you say something nice instead? What makes you think that overtaking at a bend will definitely bang into a car in front? And which part of my post suggest that I will treat it like a racing car?
Mandrew 1st Gear July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 It's always better to book as they don't have the facility to accommodate lot of cars. So far okay with their services. They follow the guidelines from Proton. And if any issues, they call in the Proton personal to come over and advice. For my slow acceleration issue also they have to do the same. So only issue is there maybe a delay.
Boleh Neutral Newbie July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 How much does the 1K service cost? And what brand of engine oil do they use? What viscosity? 10W30 or 10W40?
Mandrew 1st Gear July 18, 2012 Share July 18, 2012 The cost was about $97. They are using OWS synthetic oil - 5W40.

Boleh Neutral Newbie July 23, 2012 Share July 23, 2012 Hi! Got my ride last Thursday so have been busy running in the car. Slight problem I faced. 1) Driver seat backrest feels like not secured. Can feel a bit of rocking. Will ask service centre to check during 1K servicing. 2) On sunday morning at the 1st crank, engine idling a bit erratic, like engine wanna die off.. engine normal only after I press the accelerator a bit. Will monitor closely and see if it happens again. Other than that, overall happy with the car. CVT engine very boring so I have to get used to it. I'm gonna miss my current car which I'm still waiting to sell at the right price. Do you have any of the above problems?
Meganut 2nd Gear July 23, 2012 Share July 23, 2012 Is yours brand new or second hand? Could be over-gased of aircon that cause the rpm to this wanting to stall feeling... my car stalled because of aircon overgas, just bring to the agent workshop to release some gas and its all ok... Can ask them to check if the aircon has too much gas IF your car does stall on you ↡ Advertisement
