Ev0lutionz Clutched May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Anyone here driving this? Got a few questions. How come when i pump petrol 10 bucks ron 95 slowly, the gauge still remain at the same place. Then i went another station to pump another 13 slowly, the gauge also same. Is it the gauge fault? I seem to notice the gauge will go up when petrol is pumped in bulk. Btw, its my friend's car. ↡ Advertisement
Karebu 1st Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Eh GA? Did you mean GD or GE? Anyway 95 is 1.593$/l. So $10 / $1.593 = 6.277l With a 40l tank, 20markings for gauges, you can only expect it to shift 3 notches. Which is not that obvious and also depending on whether you are cornering/going up slow etc. Unless your tank is totally empty and it shows full, then there's something wrong. Ev0lutionz Clutched May 21, 2009 Author Share May 21, 2009 One thing i find it weird la. I pump 23 in bits of 10 and 13 bucks just. The gauge just stayed at 1/4!! Then i tried pumping 20 the normal way. Just press full and see the petrol thing. The thing just went up.
Blueegg Clutched May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Fuel gauges are the most inconsistent things in the universe. I've driven vans and cars, conti and jap/korean, and all I can say is - they are almost always not linear in graduation and certainly not to be trusted if you go on long road trips up north. Do yourself a favour, use the tripmeter and pump early.

Do yourself a favour, use the tripmeter and pump early. good advice. not to mention, try to pump until the pump clicks. then maybe pump until the next click. that ensures that the tank is pretty full and u have a decent range. good to find out what's ur range in sg before heading up. but for chiongsters, do KIV that at speed, FC will be worse than usual. i get 11km/l or so if i whack at 140 or more most of the time. usually i get 14 km/l with fairly aggressive city/highway driving
Sky8807 1st Gear May 22, 2009 Share May 22, 2009 To get good FC, keep speed below 120Km/hr
Ahdi Neutral Newbie May 22, 2009 Share May 22, 2009 (edited) i nv really trust fuel gauge, all i do is to look at mileage. my worst is 420km for a 55litre tank for city driving, n 530km for highway driving. before the light comes out. anyway mine not a fit or jazz, but a stream from the same family.
