Stary Turbocharged June 15, 2009 Share June 15, 2009 haha bought this for my father. hope he dun find it too cheapo Wah low, would have bought it for myself. I only use phone for calling and sms.....I find all the other phones overkill and too expensive. I hope they have a monochrome version too and sell it for under $50. That's the best. ↡ Advertisement

Lala81 Hypersonic June 15, 2009 Share June 15, 2009 last show, I get it at 270, comes with a 320gb seagate HDD inside. it's actually like an external HDD but with added features and remote control which luckily, come in english. some come with chinese wordings, others is with plastic casing (cheapo looking). Loading is quite easy coz it work just like external hdd. also have a SD card slot, so a 8GB SD card is more than enough for a HK tv serial The main advantage of the wdtv is the hd output and the good updates they send out. Most of the irritating issues that were present with mkv files since it came out has been fixed in firmware updates. I doubt china players can do that. But ur china player is definitely cheap For the price, its definitely the best media center. Dun understand y anyone wants to use RM format. Its lossy, its easily corruptible. David Clutched June 20, 2009 Share June 20, 2009 (edited) this one got HDMI.. but I brought another DV-R at the last show that can play RM format and do recording as well. ... but using AV connection. not the best of the resolution but watchable. Sorry for the late reply, just got it fixed up yesterday. To answer you, yes it had HDMI output as well as RCA. Only thing is, I did not asked during the PC Show why is there a USB1.1 post at the side besides the USB2.0 at the back. Why did not they have 2x USB2.0? The other snag I feel it that the USB2.0 and the HDMI were a little close for comfort. Anyway like LaLa81 said this rock, and I am very impressed by it overall. Its portable to the T. You can invite friends to bring their USB portable drive over to watch. You can bring the WDTV along to chalet, friends and even Hotel81 because it does comes along with RCA cables. Its palm-size and a 2.5" portable hdd can be easily sneak into the room. At $299 for the WDTV and a WD 500GB portable hdd, I think its a fair value. Maybe these people have not realised its full value yet so I guess $199 for the stand-alone and $299 with a 500GB hdd,its a steal. Arowana1 1st Gear June 20, 2009 Share June 20, 2009 Saw this and bot it. http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/...asp?driveid=572 i was looking at the older version sometime back but ended up with popcorn instead. imho, wdtv is good for fuss free use but if want more features, esp for techies, nothing beats popcorn. ↡ Advertisement
