Turbocharged

Anyone know the local agent for 'Super Power' maintenance free battery? I bought it less than a year ago and now is it flat. Any recommendation for replacement here in Singapore that is cheap and good?

Quick advice welcomed / appreciated because I need to change it fast before I am unable to start the car.

Thank you

Turbocharged

thank you guys, I know any brand will do. The last time I replaced it and couldn't find a standard non-maintenance free battery. Thinking the technology has improved and I went ahead with the change. Standard battery usually last 2 to 3 years with proper care.

Maybe this time got to go for a better brand. GT maybe?

No one will dare to offer few years warranty for their batteries. The longest so far I heard is AA, which is offering 14 mths for the Amaron batteries they are selling.

Even if you managed to get a battery supplier to extend the warranty period, the chance of you claiming warranty is still very very slim as the supplier can easily point out that your alternator is not rectifying the ac current 100% into dc current and the percent of ac current entering the battery has directly caused an internal short circuit.

I thought Bosch is made in india? [confused]

I happened to look at Amara Raja infosite and they are manufacturers of Amaron (house brand), Optima (JV with Johnson Controls) and Bosch...

Is your Bosch battery a different design? or simply related to you by shopkeeper? They are known to b-------t alot just to sell becuase of consumers' quality perception [sweatdrop] Even Varta is made in china...

Battery these days ain't cheap anymore. I'm using amaron for the pass 1 year, so far no problem. On average, most of my battery lasted me about 2years.

Varta or Hoppecke (from AA) is quite good. If you are using a Conti, they will recommend that you use Hoppecke. My battery has lasted me over 2 years now.
