Belt grease is the easy way out. It just fixes the noise but not the problem. Get them to break out the wrenches to adjust it properly. Sometimes the new belt needs to be re-adjusted after initial installation, because it will stretch a bit.

Hi bro and sis, I do really need your help here.

I am driving a Nissan sunny N16 (2006). I got the screehing sound during the gear change from gear 1 to gear 2 or gear 2 to gear 3. It come from engine bay (and it will sound like "tuk" when go over a hump" too). But already confirmed by mechanic that not the belt issue. As what the mechanic claim, the sound only come whenever between the engine move up (gear 1 engaged / gear 2 engaged) and move back the original position (when you engage clutch b4 gear 2 / gear 3). The screehing sound gone (the "tuk" sound when go over a hump gone too) once the mechanic try to put a rubber at the bottom engine mount to limited the engine movement. But he suspect that it was a Engine mounting issue but he can't spot the defect from the external look of the engine mounting. Hence he also no promise that the problem will settle if I changed the whole engine mount. Any bro or sis here encounter the similar experience b4?

Please feel free to give any suggestion to solve the above problem.

Million thanks in advance.
