Reduce Petrol Cost

Hi all,

think i would post this here to inform others on some vouchers from the different stations, to reduce the petrol cost we are facing now.

Hope others would also add on. [thumbsup]

Caltex

HSBC card -> 12% discount till 31 Dec 2009

SPC

SPC Card (5% min) + DBS Card (5%)

Now they have vouchers, $2 off for every $40 which is equivalent to 5%. Think you could just take from the counter staff (1 to 31 Aug 09)

So all in all -> 15%

aug still have discount? i believe the vouchers given out are branch specific, do take note.

when i was still pumping petrol, i went to pump at adam road, then i checked my voucher, valid only at jurong east [smallcry]

but with the $2 for every $30 of petrol spending, SPC seems like a pretty darn good choice. [sunny]

I assume you're referring to esso ?

Its still 14.5%. You get 10% upfront discount when you pay. The other 5% is your dividend. You'll see it in your dividend card statement. Once the dividend accumulate to >$50, citi will send you the cheque .... [thumbsup]

Yup, SPC $2 discount for every $30 coupon in July was the reason i pumped SPC last month.. Aug coupon is $2 discount for every $40 so i'll continue to pump SPC in Aug..

Just received AMK Shell coupons for 15% discount for min $50 pumped but only valid on each Thu of Aug.. but difficult to manage till Thu then pump cos my full tank is only around $60.. so guess no Shell for me this month unless just nice Thu tank empty.. [:/]

Supersonic

Caltex with OCBC card is also 12% discount.

They just match HSBC discount to 12%, but I have to provide the voucher which states min. $20 purchase.

Can you siphon the fuel directly from the car fuel tank ? As I understand most of the fuel tanks come with anti-siphon device. If you can, pl use a good quality siphoning hand pump not those sold in yr neighbourhood "One Dollar" store. I have witness some motorcyclists using transparnet hose and their mouth to suck & prim the fuel ( hopefully the fuel vapour will not burst into flame in thier lungs.)

I know this has been discussed before, "water to gas" to save fuel.

I have it in my car, fuel saving is around 5-10% plus more power. Not twice the mileage as said in the link. Mine only uses 1 jar, while I read others use up to 6 jars......

If you're interested, can PM me, I'll give you the contact (and website) to the guy who does this in SG. He can help you install to your vehicle for trial run for a few rounds near his house at no charge. He's quite confident that you'll feel the difference in power (and I think smoothness) immediately.
