Before we can offer our comments, maybe you can tell us your budget, what type of cars u prefer ie. SUV, Sedan, Hatchback, MPV. What is your top priority in looking for a car, is it FC, or space, or handling etc?

For now, majority of the Jap rides are si beh ex due to the high raise in Yen & COE [sweatdrop]

For a more less taxing ride to the pockets can look at Korean makes i.e Forte, Avante ... etc which is very value for $$$ IMHO [nod]

How old is your car and how much to repair?

then if i scrap my car to a scrap yard instead of giving AD to scrap for me do i get more money?

scrap value is the same la...determined by the LTA...

however it's different when the selling price is concerned...if your Sonata is 5yrs old liao, it's the 2.0EF GLS version right?

i guess you should be bored with your ride...if you're looking for something economical, i suggest you wait for the Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI...after driving korean, driving a japanese, though more reliable, just doesn't give you that stable ride...

Koreans heavy body irons out bumps...Japanese still rather 'Milo tin like' body just lets the bump intrude into the cabin, upsetting passengers...

the 1.4TSI 7DSG is well liked by many from the Golf Mk6...there's power, space and value for what you're getting...!!!

i suggest you get a continental car now as an upgrade...

Turbocharged

why does this itch to change cars seems to afflict so many? like furrynadz pointed out, cheaper to repair.

a well maintained ride can go on further than the COE timeframe. changing a ride every 3-5 yr is seriously very damaging to your finances.

Agreed , if can keep car .. just keep . no point wasting money buying a new car every now and then... but no doubt new jap cars are getting exp.

But i do agree that when a car has problems , the notion of changing it comes out.

Try getting those new 2nd cars <2yrs , some of them offer pretty good value and low mileage.
