Trailer screwed up big time

Was riding home on Upper Bukit Timah (UBT) Rd towards Woodlands Rd. Jam started after the viaduct, outside the Courts bukit timah.

There is a massive jam. Traffic on the UBT towards the Woodlands Rd was diverted to Hume Avenue due to the road closure after the T-junction. Curious enough, I went back to see what was happening from the opposite direction.

A trailer carrying a heavy equipment over the height limit of (4.5m?) slammed into the blue warning signboard.

really FUBAR situation. I wonder how much the claim and the fine going to be.

I was about to start a topic on this.

Was stuck in the jam for ~1hr! And when I happily got out of the mess and turned into dairy farm road to PIE, saw the sign, "Accident on lane 3" and I almost fainted.

i went past there around 930pm last nite

the whole 4.5m high barrier was slanting half way

2 TP WRXs on siren and 1 TP mobile was blocking the left lane

only the right lane is passable...

Really tua ki....

the trailer was transporting a vehicle crane...

guess it overshot the height limit...

from the UBT towards city direction, for a trailer to hit the erp gantry, it has to pass thru the height limit signboard den the railway track den finally ERP gantry. no way to hit. smart planning! LOL

Neutral Newbie

Haha, I was there when the trailer hit the height limit sign.. I was in lane 1 while the trailer is in the bus lane.. Freaking scary!! The crane-vehicle that the trailer was transporting had its crane extended out a bit I guess, and therefore didnt make the 4.5m height limit... I heard a loud noise, then saw tat.. immediately first reaction is to chiong pass.. later the board hit my car :(

Thanks to the warning barrier which is positioned about 20meters before the overhead railway crossing.

Without that barrier, the trailer would have slammed directly into the overhead structure, possibly resulting in casualties.
