Redstorm 1st Gear September 6, 2009 Share September 6, 2009 As good as Garmin where Sg and My maps are concerned. Beyond Sg and Mal, nobody brand can beat Garmin. Ok to use if you do not travel beyond Sg and Mal. Garmin have maps of almost all the countries in the world.

Ecclesiasm Neutral Newbie September 7, 2009 Share September 7, 2009 Agree. I had the Holux with Mapking. Updated to the papago software and found out that it is laggy. very irritating! On the positive side, the software is superior to Mapking in many ways. Speaks out the road names, shows pic of highway exits so that you are not confused by unclear voice navigation, predictive text keyboard, 3D buildings on map, etc. Given a chance to rethink my decision, I will still go for Papago. Map King needs to buck up! my 2 cents...

Ok to use if you do not travel beyond Sg and Mal. Garmin have maps of almost all the countries in the world. So true. For garmin, you can easily find overseas maps. But the features found in Papago only exists in the more expensive Garmins.

Lex250 Clutched September 7, 2009 Share September 7, 2009 I use a Papago R5800 for the last couple months..this price cheap leh i bot it at 300+. Pro: Large screen Predictive text Voice navigation (The mandarin one is best) Cheaper than Holux Good 3D pictures Cons: Bit slow at start up Road names using voice is terrible (Too many local names) IF you navigate solely on vocie can get quoite confusing No other features Internal battery

He is going to use it for navigation in M'sia..... Pls kindly advise which brand of GPS is good for navigating in M'sia especially KL..... Thanks.... Get a Garmin 255W localised version (Mal/Sg) and you can use the Junction View and Lane Assist. Junction View is very useful feature to have especially in KL where it can be very confusing in certain junctions with so many exits. I heard even the locals sometimes get confused by it too.
