So if u dont want to lose out on the money part, you should hire PI and get some solid evidence. In the end if u got no grounds to prove justify yr divorce, yr house may have to give to yr wife. Or she can request money from you every month. Btw, PI fee is not cheap. My friend ever hired one that cost up to SGD5000 for 4 days only. Suggest you talk to a lawyer. Acanthus Neutral Newbie September 12, 2009 Share September 12, 2009 Whether or not you have proof that your spouse is cheating behind your back does not means that your assets are safe. Adultery is only one of the three reason(the other 2 being desertion and violence if i remember correctly) that you can commence the divorce proceeding immediately without having to go through the separation period (3 yrs if both party agrees and 4 yrs if 1 party disagrees) Division of your assets or maintenance payment will be dealt separately by the judge without taking into consideration the cause for divorce. If you earn more than her and have been providing for her lifestyle, then she has the right to claim enough maintenance to let her enjoy a similar lifestyle after the divorce till she remarries or pass away. If you have kids, then maintenance for the kids is a definite(unless your wife says she doesn't need it). You will have to provide for them till they turn 18. If you really decide to proceed with the divorce, make sure both parties sit down and talk thru it properly without getting emotional. Its best that both parties agree that no maintenance payment will be made. DO NOT even offer to make a token amount of $1 a month, as long as there is a on-going payment, she can go to the family court anytime to show cause and get the judge to increase the monthly payment. Talking with each other on how to divide the assets will also lower the lawyer's fees and also the time taken for the entire proceeding to end. Hope this helps. You might as well give it a try since you have nothing to lose. Reason why she's tired of you is because you treat her too well and tried too hard for the family! Now you can put the divorce notion at the back of your head and play with her mind a little. Start treating her like crap and hang out with your friends and even girl friends if possible. Show her that you have a life of your own and your world doesn't revolve around her. DO NOT INITIATE SEX WITH HER THOUGH! You better go beat it off yourself if you have the urge. She will be surprised and want to know what happened. Trust me on this. Try it out. She may just come crawling back to you. Else, you may proceed with the divorce. Like I said you have nothing to lose since you're already contemplating divorce. I totally agree to this approach. Human always take for granted(man or woman alike). So just ignore her. Go and enjoy yourself. If she still dont care. I guess that is the end. But do you have kids ? Who looks after them when you are out enjoying ?
