Iridium Spark Plug ?

Hi All,

My Toyota stock spark plug (Denso SC20HR11) got the word "Iridium" printed on it. Does that means this plug is the iridium type like tout to last for longer mileage?

Haha, if no negative performance observed with copper electrode for more than 50,000km, why use iridium or other spark plugs many times the price?

Many/most of us do not drive more than 200,000km within 10-year COE. How often do you need to replace spark plugs?

Well i'm on brisk now, all i can say is the difference is negligible. Unless you are running on a highly tuned ride.

yes...agreed with you

I changed to Denso iridium at 40k km 2 years ago.

Now at 120k km, changed to ngk iridium....

the ride is much more smoother now..

btw,

any one know how long the ngk iridium can last?

Want to get to Denso Iridium Spark Plug, any Forumer know where to install that?

You should drop by m x t r a d i n g s (do a google) during Sunday because they have freelance mechanic that can install for you. also i think they have a pretty big range of Denso iridium plugs model and engine oil, good to browse around.

Nope, doubt there is noticeable increase in horses/torque.

Regards,

my nissan sunny performs better and has better power at higher rpm which is usefull when you need power in situations like overtaking.

F.C. has also improved.

From now onwards i'm going to stick with the denso irridium !

The last time I sent my nissan cefiro for service and TCM pushed me to buy a service package which include platinum spark plus replacement. But I don't know much about this kind of "platinum"spark plugs.. Can anyone advise me what kind of how long does the plugs last? The last change was around 120000km now my mileage around 187000km.
