Bare bones price without the freebies (solar film and camera) and 3 year servicing they are giving at this current fair. Specs are as per the website. No 360 cam (which I loved on my Q3) and no parking assist. But if having no 360cam is 15-20k cheaper, I'd gladly pick the no 360cam options, which is why I didn't go for the Sportback. I would have taken the 40 TSFI too if it was available at this current price but I doubt it. IIRC the price they are selling the Q5 now is the price when I bought my Q3 2 years ago when the COE was 40k. So when my friend told me about it on a Monday, I made the purchase by Wednesday before COE bidding. A rash decision actually. Anyway, latest update is that I should be getting the car back on Monday. Hopefully everything works if not need to flip table. Would be nice if they gave some goodwill for all this inconvenience. If I was prepared for such inconvenience, I would have bought a second hand car. After a WOT , So finally how much did U pay for the car? ↡ Advertisement

Actually sounds like a steal, if not for the issues. Man I hope all goes well for the car, update us when you get it back ya? curious though, it sounds like you were looking to ditch the q3 anyway regardless if there was a deal on the q5 or not? jtjt8812 Neutral Newbie December 3, 2022 Share December 3, 2022 @iygnim Sorry just to clarify, I meant the price of the Q5 now is the price of the Q5 2 years ago when COE was 40k. I vaguely remember the Q5 was 220-240k 2 years ago, while the Q3 was 140k. Now the gap is much smaller. Q3 is 215k i think? while Q5 is 250k. I wasn't planning to ditch the Q3 at all. I had no issues with it, though now and then I was just looking around for a bigger car. As mentioned, rash decision. @Freeder I got mine at 243k

iygnim Neutral Newbie December 6, 2022 Share December 6, 2022 @jtjt8812 Thanks again for sharing, I chickened out in the end on the final day of the sale. Yes the price was good and super tempting, but I couldn't get over that the car I was going to get was a showroom model, I was initially told it was kept in storage. Maybe I am ignorant about this and that storage models are often used as display models as well? *shrug* Would have preferred if that was told to me up front, especially when having to cough up this type of money. jtjt8812 Neutral Newbie December 6, 2022 Share December 6, 2022 @iygnim what color was it? You mean they told you at the last moment that it was a display piece? When I bought mine (blue), the green Q5 on display in the showroom was going for 3k cheaper (239999) but my wife didn't want a display piece. SE said it was only on display for 2 weeks. My friend was there last weekend (I think that is 4-5 week later) and it was still on display. Anyway, I collected the car back yesterday (6 days at the service center). Brakes and MMI all working fine now. With regards to the connectivity issue I had, the SOS control module was faulty (supposed to have a green light at the SOS button on top but mine did not have) so they replaced that module. They just threw in an "in-between service" oil change. Feel like I could be better compensated for "depriving" me of the joys of buying a new car and all that inconvenience (lucky my office is near the ubi service center if not it would be even worse). I'm not out looking for free stuff - I just don't want them to make it seem like its just my bad luck for buying a faulty new car, and I hope I don't have to go back there again.

iygnim Neutral Newbie December 6, 2022 Share December 6, 2022 @jtjt8812 navarra blue. and yes I saw the same district green when I was there over the weekend. and yes I only found out that I am getting the display piece because that navarra blue happened to be right there on display, and I was not given a discount for this nonsense. on hindsight it was lucky that I went down to the showroom so that's how I found out, moreover that navarra blue piece had a mix of features from pre- and post-facelift which didn't look great. it also doesn't help that my wife and I are against display pieces as well, especially for this price point. if it was a 60K Toyota then sure, but not a car in this bracket for sure. the fact that these cars were manufactured since 2021 means they have probably been rotated through the showroom countless times, so "on display for 2 weeks" is obviously not the case. congrats on getting the car back! sounds like it's working fine now, I hope everything holds up for you. I definitely agree that they could have done better in taking care of your troubles, but i guess this is how things are nowadays. to be fair the overall industry is doing badly and they probably didn't have much margin to "take care" of you heh. i myself am on an audi now as well and service has been hit/miss over the years. probably making the switch to bmw instead after this fiasco, can't say for sure things will be better but we shall see. What features were mixed? I didn't know that could be possible. In the Q5 post FL reviews on sgcarmart, it was all the SLine models which they don't seem to sell anymore. So in terms of exterior, the most obvious difference would be the grill. IIRC they only started bringing in the 2021 FL models early or mid this year. 1 hour ago, iygnim said: probably making the switch to bmw instead after this fiasco, can't say for sure things will be better but we shall see. Yeah I thought my next car would be a Q8 (if I can afford in the future) but I think I'll try an X5 after this experience.
iygnim Neutral Newbie December 6, 2022 Share December 6, 2022 @jtjt8812 eh maybe I didn't pay good attention but I'm pretty sure the navarra blue model I saw on display did not have the post-FL grille that I expected. anyhow whatever the case, it was a display piece so i guess it didn't matter anyway. yeah for me it's gonna be the X3, the X5/Q8/GLE range isn't realistic now unfortunately. but i definitely agree, the Q8 is a beauty. interestingly with Eurokars now coming on board, i wonder if that's gonna make PM and EA improve their service quality to retain/obtain customers. that just might push them above C&C/PA in terms of service which would only benefit us.
