Audi Q5

Er.. Indeed my salary has a car component to it. Which will be a waste if I did not utilize it for changing car.

My SSS petrol + installment is only half of the allowable claims.

So thinking of making my boss happy and yet fully utilize the car allowance fully. There is no rebate each month if I never maximized it, it's like not taking the variable part of the salary which is stupid in my opinion.

Of course my intention is to get opinion on the car. Not about my salary scale. But then it's hard for others to understand my intention when the full reasons are not revealed. Which is why I am ok with the various comments, can't expect too much.

If the new car is going to be under the company's name then yes, go for it.

If its going to be under your name, then higgsbosom is right. Stick with what you have.

If you must change, make sure that you won't be paying more for any longer than what you would if you kept your SSS. This way if you get fired, retrenched, or just want to leave (for e.g. to pursue your masters) then you won't be paying more than what you would already have to.

hi leepee. dont mind me saying - ur boss is asking u to get more debt and more committment. esp if u r carrying p/l, so that u cant go on without a job. not a good idea moving forward.

Yes... this is 1 of the boss's strategies to tie u down... on the bright side, maybe u r indispensable or performing well thats y ur boss wans to do that to u.

Ok I understand the part about not getting tied down.

But if the car benefits component can cover the instalmment of the Q5, there is no loss to me.

Even if I am sacked, the most I sell away the car IF I can't pay the installment anymore.

There is actually not much cons isn't it?

I always wonder how do company re-imburse for private car purchased?

I know some companies pay for their privately registered cars. 1 that my friend work in has 20+ cars all registered under personal names.

All fully paid and they get to change new model every 3 years stays in the company.

i thought privately registered cars are not expendable?

Hmm. But it seems like your car allowance doesn't pay for your car's downpayment.

Assuming uu took a loan with 30% downpayment, you have to pay 30% * $167 400 = $50 220. <----- where does this $$ come from??

I really can't fault Leepee on this one. Between this being a not so common phrase in sg and how most SGeans don't know how to find things on their own and need to be spoon-fed, I'm really not surprised. It just proves shes a cookie cutter [laugh]

Thanks. I am asking about the car review, if anyone has driven it before. But seems like people have no experience with this car. Maybe it's not popular bah.
