Hmm... ok, i'll try to check the spec of the car cam, to ascertain whether it will cut off a few min after the engine is cut off.

But if the power supply is not cut off, how will the car cam be able to know when to start any 'countdown' after the engine is cut off?

I've not installed the cam yet, for fear that it will drain the batt dry after engine cut off... Will try to find out from the company that brought this in first...

tks.

OK tks.

Yup, had heard from others that conti cars look to have the power continue running after engine cut.

Will need to think of a way out...

Not all I supposed. My new conti ride does shut power off to the 12v after engine cutoff

hmm... really? Wah, then different brands do different things, no standard leh... btw, what car are you driving now?

Wonder whether got any switch to put at the aux power jack, so that can easily switch it off, or if mechanic can adjust to cut power when engine cut...

I use an aftermarket adapter for the 12v socket, with individual switches, so I can control what needs to be off when the car is off.

Oh, good. Tks.

Was thinking of checking to see whether got or not. Where did you get it and how much did it cost?

It was from aliexpress - pretty cheap, perhaps around $10 or under.

ok tks. China one huh? I hope China stuff are now much safer...

I had one china car charger some years back, which when i used to charge my samsung note 3, it gives out some smell, and the charger was really hot! I straightaway took it out and threw it away...  [sweatdrop]

Driving a VW Touran now.

Last time I no need to on my engine I can use the 12v to vacuum and use for the car wash spray on my focus. Now I have to at least on the electronic system, dunno what it's called when you half on without switching o the engine, to use the 12v

So far so good, *touchwood* havent had any trouble. Had no choice also, needed to avoid draining the battery without having to plug out and in to the socket constantly.

Yup, i'm feeling the same way too.

Will go and look around challenger and car accessories shops to see whether got decent ones that aren't too expensive.

Do you remember which one you bought?

It fits into the cupholder, with 2 12v sockets, a voltmeter display and 2 buttons to turn each one individually on or off.
