Once they see your total cholesterol above 200, they will say you are going to die soon, and must take 10,000 statins a day or something.

Ask them why, they will say the cholesterol will get stuck in your arteries. Ask them the correlation between trigs, HDL and LDL particle sizes their relationship to heart disease, they will say "huh?", and then say, it doesn't matter.

Ah well, as long as I keep up with the science instead of being educated by Pfizer...

lol can't help it...can't live without booze. The so-called safe level for SGPT is below 37, mine is 40. But I read on wikipedia, up to 60 is considered ok. Another excuse by Big Pharma to make money? I dunno...

Well, everyone has their own shtick.

You thing is whiskey.

Mine is cheese. Can't give up cheese although I can be much leaner without it. Had lunch at Basilico today and totally overdosed on it. Farting like crazy now. Couldn't eat any dinner at all, and will only eat tomorrow at dinner time. But the fragrance of the cheese is still lingering in my consciousness. Makes me happy. I don't care if I never have a bite of bread or noodles or cake or rice for the rest of my life, but cheese is staying.

We gotta live our lives too.

I also like cheese...but it gives me another kind of problem...constipation. I guess all Neolithic foods tend to give some kinda probs...

Hi guys - been long... and glad to see that this thread has revived!

Unfortunately, i have fallen off the bandwagon, and this thread revived at the right time! Since this thread started 2 years ago, i fell from 82 to 68, but sadly, i couldn't resist carbs like Hillstreet bak chor mee, char kway teow, and slowly went back to my original weight about half a year back.

Until a couple of weeks back, i went back to eating paleo as i can't stand the tightness my pants were causing me. :(. Hopefully, i can go back to being 60+ soon, and am now re-reading the 100+ pages of info. Thankfully, i am past the carb-flu stage now.

Btw, this time round, i am feeling more thirsty than last time when i go paleo. Does anyone experience the same? I am already drinking more than usual already.

Great! Actually you can work on the 80/20 rule and also treat it as a eating habit change. Am on it for 2 years now and maintaining the weight plus occasionally gone on longer runs with Paleo - only took some carbs for the FM.

Only managed to eat dinner outside.

I know home cook is the best, but was wondering if Bak Kut Teh is a less evil option? I had pork ribs + liver and some of the soup earlier (no rice).

Very pepperish, not sure if there is sugar added to the soup though. <_<

If really no choice then eat Hainan chicken and ask for no breast meat. Take some of the liver and glizzard. This will be mostly higher protein. Alternative is roast pork, ask for the fatty part. Roast duck avoid breast meat too.

Once you get home, load up on the fats.
