I forgotten to buy e-day licence on 31 Dec 2009. I tried to buy on 1 Jan on MobileP@y and AXS machine. But both got error. AXS machine hang on me and MobileP@y's automated calling system got problem. So end up I forgot to buy. only remember on 2 Jan midnight...

Called up LTA hotline today, the CSO (customer service officer) called me to go to LTA office to send a report on why you forgot to buy, then I write the report, when to see the investigation officer and then pay the $20. Very toublesm.. No penalty so no problem... [thumbsup][thumbsup]

I can concur Powerkeong point about MobilePay calling system problem on 1 Jan10. As mentioned previously, my wife used it on 31 Dec morning & I tried to buy the E-License on 1 Jan10 morning only for the system to deny me logging in with the PIN on my first attempt (cfm PIN was correct from mobilephone display), luckily managed to login on 2nd attempt and complete the transaction. I think its a good habit to SMS first and use later to prevent inconveniences.

Hi all, i wish to add something that was overlooked here.

LTA will need you to come down to write a brief report n see the officer( Lvl 3). They will first check on their system if you were "registered" on the day you drove out.

If you are a first timer, that will be the only final warning n concession to make a backdated payment of $20(Counter 19, Lvl 1). That means no next time!

Very troublesome, then convert to normal plate and drive with no hassles, no fear and best -> no people will look down from you again. [:p] [:p] [:p]

Yes bro, that is an alternative....as for the ppl looking down on OPCs, well, they need to open their mind cos there are many drivers with OPCs as their 2nd or 3rd car in the family....So who look down on who?... [laugh]

Since many have PM me asking about the new OPC scheme(full sat & eve of 5PH), here is some info from onemotoring.com

"Revised OPC Scheme

The existing OPC scheme is such that owners of OPCs will have to display a supplementary licence (or purchase an e-Day Licence come 23 Nov 2009) if they wish to drive their OPC between 7am and 3pm on Saturdays,

By end January 2010, the OPC scheme will be revised to allow unrestricted usage on Saturdays and the eves of 5 public holidays, namely, New Year, Lunar New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali and Christmas. Existing OPC owners can choose to opt into this revised scheme to enjoy the extended hours in exchange for reduced tax discounts and an administrative fee of $100.

With the extended usage, the annual road tax discount will be correspondingly reduced from $800 to $500. The minimum annual road tax will be $70, instead of $50 under the existing OPC scheme. This means that existing OPC owners who opt for the revised OPC scheme will have their annual road tax discounts reduced by between $20 and $300. This is because the tax concessions given to OPC owners were computed taking into consideration the restricted usage periods. The removal of Saturday restrictions and 5 public holiday eves will have to be accompanied by corresponding adjustments to the tax concessions.

More details on the revised OPC and Cash Rebates Schemes will be made available nearer the implementation date. LTA is currently finalising the implementation details and upgrading the backend system."

Yup, paper not so troublesome. I also drove on 2nd (sat), tried buying after 12, realised system also took time off, went out on sunday and forgot to buy. Called LTA and told to go down see their officer to listen to 'music'. I will make a note to them that their system should not have downtime.

Btw, asked them about the whole day saturday thingy but the customer service was reluctant to say much except to watch our for announcement soon. Don't you all find it strange that they have not announced the date despite previously saying that it will start end Jan. I find it rather strange, doesn't seem like their normal behaviour, like as if they are still trying to fine-tune or have some reservations over this full-day saturday thingy.... [;)]

the announcement kinda late huh .... left around 2 more weeks to 23rd of Jan oready ... i wonder if LTA will shortchange all OPC by delaying the starting date ?

Okays, doesnt the new scheme have some loophole? If ppl dont buy eticket for the day they using, and never got caught. They can just choose to not pay because even if u r caught, u have till 2359hrs the next day?
