130i? U better train your right foot. So much power to the rear wheels on such a short wheelbase spells trouble for easy oversteer. I've seen many claims by BMW owners, saying their car suddenly spun out of control. Otherwise, as it is the only rear-wheel drive hatchback out there, you will be having one hell of fun. If i have $200K, i would get a car which gives the most smiles per dollar ratio: Cooper S JCW, Renault Sport R27, Swift Sport, Peugeot 107, Lotus Elise, to name a few. It's not having the biggest possible engine and having big fat tyres and rims combo + heavy insulation robbing the natural feeling of driving away. It's just pure unadulterated fun that i want. That's the love of driving.

i have finally decided..no point in getting a new car. i have decided to get a used 130i hatchback...use the rest of the money to mod it..and keep the rest :)

 

Sensible choice since you just got your licence. Get used to driving on the roads first. Learning with a L plate is very different from normal daily driving.

 

You can always upgrade to a better car later. If you get a BMW 335 or Z4 so early at your age, then all other cars you drive below that standard with feel inadequate. Slowly upgrade your car one step at a time, then you will find more thrill in driving.

if i am the TS, i will spend little money on car and use the remaining for investment or setup a small business. anyway he comes from a rich family, i guess he has papa and mama to fall back on.

There's much to be learnt .. i know .. i was 18 once .. but some learn from advices, others learn from hard experiences. Kjleck gotta choose.

 

In any traffic disputes and arguments, it is never how big or expensive or powerful one's car is. When both drivers come out to settle dispute, the first one to throw the punch will be jailed, no matter how elite you are. Hence ... let's all keep our tempers in check.

Being only 18, it is good for you to acquire this value early.

Just advising you to be more magnanimous and not to use vulgarities so quickly.

there are tonnes of fast car on the road but are driven in a civillised manner...

 

doesn't mean that you have a fast car means you'll always drive fast and recklessly...

 

you can drive fast, but am a careful driver, nobody can blame or complain about you...

 

on the other hand, if you drive a normal 1.6L sedan, but always the 'chiongster' kind, not only are you posing a risk to other drivers, but you are also damaging your car, as your car is not build for chionging...

 

you are also wrong to drive slowly on the right-most lane...even if you own a WRX/EVO kind of car...
