Just avoid buying cars from Turf City...most cars go odometer tapped...try potential second hand car dealers, like republic, premium selection, car times and etc...the bigger the better

Who else are those big 2nd hand car dealers??

A few thoughts bros. When do the car dealer go down to LTA and do up the transfer of ownership? After the approval of loan or after the full agreed sum being collected (as mentioned cashier order)? Kind of tricky if they tell you that they can't do the transfer unless u forward them the cashier order and thus full sum collected otherwise they can't do the transfer as in company policy. Shouldn't post dated cheque be a better option.

You need to fowrward them your ic as well or you don't ?

Good question. I am abt to get my resale car and dealer ask me to prepare cashier order by sat but I thought lta close on weekends? So must surrender ic and money first meh?

go check out sgcarmart for those recommanded merchant. big 2nd hand dealer should be those dealers who have at least 30 and above cars for you to choose from. u can try going to used car centres like ubi car mart, tagore used car centre or mackenzie used car centre and also take a look at their office, my friend once bought a car from a dealer located in a shopping centre and the company only got 1 salesman, no admin, no manager, no cleaner, just like a mama shop, in the end his car was not transfered untill 2 months later when my friend decided to make a police report. call the office for 100 times also cannot find the manager or boss....

Hi,

My friend has put a deposit for a car from a 2nd hand car dealer and on the very same day in the evening, he found out that the car dealer has marked down the price of that car on the website. It was approx 5K lower than the price he had got it for. Called up the car dealer and they said it was their company's policy and strategy. Does it make any sense at all?

Can't imagine this stupid Ka******* Lea**** still able to buy in cars for sale.

Beware of them, who knows the car is not in good condition, and the workshop they are liaising with will cheat you on the condition of the car.

I just hope that these cars don't appear at my area, if not they will suffer.

Sometimes they have to do that in order to make your friend's bank loan successful. my previous car was on $0 drive away package. thus they mark up the selling price of the car by several thousands to reflect to the bank on the so call "real" selling price in order for the loan to be successful.

Don't Go To Strait Euro Motor, big liar!

I went there to see 2 cars from them. the price they quoted me was a few thousand higher than advertise on sgcarmart. didnt even bother to argue with them because it already show how trust worthy the company is. and i doubt i can trust their cars too. i just walk off after hearing that...

I'll strongly advise people from buying used cars from TTS Eurocars (SG FIAT Distributor). Just had an extremely unpleasant buying experience from them.

Common feedback is that most dealers at Turf city are at high risk of modding odometer

Does it help if the car if within 3 years warranty, e.g. 2 year old mitsubishi or mazda? If the odometer is adjusted, i should be able to find out if I bring it back to authorised dealer e.g. C&C or Mazda motor for serviding?

Can someeone please advise?

Just to share i was looking ard at the 2nd Hand Dealers in UBI, after checking most of the Dealers, I realized most charge 500 for admin fees just to handle the handing over for the cars, however, there was one JDG Motors at 50 only for admin fees. I wonder if any of you had any experience with them.

Just bought my first car a 5 year old toyota vios recently from 88 motor trading at mackenzie used car centre, mileage was 110km+ but the sales person (paul) told me that 110km is very normal for a 5 year old car. As i needed a car urgently and their price was 2-3k cheaper i didnt care much and place a dep of $1k. Because i had just started my new job as a property agent my loan was rejected by all bank, the sales person asked me if i wanted my dep back or he could get a in house loan for me at 3.9%. as i really needed a car badly i accepted the offer. Affter collecting the car i went back to borneo motor at ubi for servicing and was told that the engine mounting need to be replaced and some of the lighting was faulty. the total cost would be around $700. So i call up the salesman and he told me that engine mounting was a wear and tear problem no warranty! but he will check with his boss first and get back to me soon. After about 1 hour he call me and agreed to repair it for me at their own workshop FOC, but if i choose to repair it at borneo motor they would only reimburse me $500 and i need to show them the original receipt for verification. In the end i choose to repair it at borneo motor as i felt safer that way. The next weekend i went down with the receipt to collect back my repair bills. The sales person told me very few people goes back to agent for repair after the 3 years warranty and handed me a $500 chq and photocopied the receipt.

1) I have just collected my car less fo than a month should i be responsible for the extra $172 repair bill? ( My total bill is $672)

2) my friends/colleauge says that i got rip off by the dealer as my interest rate of 3.9% is way too high, What should be the normal interest rate for private loan?

3) my brother just saw a nissan latio sport premium model from sgcarmart advertised by them at $30800 but sales person told me that the mileage is 180000km! but fully serviced by agent and price is negotiable. Is it safe to buy such a high mileage car?

If they really chop me off my interest rate then i would strongly advice my brother not to buy from them. Hope to get a answer from experts out there.

the $172 repair is ok lah....just write it off since it's not a big sum....

how much did u borrow n for how many yrs? 3.9% is on the high side...

Never buy car from commonwealth car mall, my uncle bought a honda jazz from them last month, 2nd day morning car cannot start... call up the salesperson no answer, call up their office and the person in charge said sorry battery no warranty cause its wear and tear. bring to workshop mechanic say need $450 to repair cause some parts spoil not charging. not batterys fault. so i call the dealer up they say sorry other parts also no warranty. then why in the first place tell us wear and tear no warranty? told them to reimburse at least $300 if not will go to CASE. after a while someone call us up saying please go ahead to CASE we are not scared. I suddenly realise how lucky am i not to have bought from them. even if u dont wanna repair for us as least dont call and say this kind of thing to an old man. my uncle is already 60+. at least have a heart and show some respect for elderly. i told them i bought my car at such a low price yet the dealer also offered to repair for me FOC at their workshop, but even if i choose to repair it at borneo they also reimburse me $500. why is it that my uncle who bought his car at such a high price and service is even worst. is it that old uncle easier to cheat?

Bro seriously, the interest for cars now are only a mere 1.88% per annum. 3.9% for a inhouse loan is pretty high, you should have asked them to reimburse you the full repair costs. I have been to 88 motor trading, was checking up on a honda jazz and met up the same sales person, was not a very good experience cause his attitude was like really bo chap and when i made some comments about the minor damages on the car i was looking at he just brushed my comments aside saying it is normal and it is very easy for them to fix it, or something even like they have not had the time to groom it etc.
