Kopites Supersonic January 3, 2011 Share January 3, 2011 Done my 1st last year. Planning for 29 more hopefully. Full ma is an addiction. During the run u wanted to give up. After the run u looking for the next one. Slowly as u completed more full than yr mind/body will turn to something more challenging namely the ultra. Not matter what just "learn' how to enjoy and relax yourselves during the run. Stamina shouldn't be a hindrance as long as you go at your own relaxing pace. Go for mileage rather than pace and you will experience "runner height".

Thoughts went through my mind, like why,'Why I sign up, pay to torture myself' Then will try to find motivational thoughts to push myself through to finishing line, be it run, walk or crawl. Just want to finish. Just like in real life. The destination matters, but it's the journey that one remembers. Sg2303 2nd Gear January 3, 2011 Share January 3, 2011 Haha, I thought I was the only one, thinking why pay money to run in the wee hours, torturing myself instead of sleeping comfortably in my bed. However, after a few days, I was like, damn, got to improve my timing next year! Megaweb Clutched January 4, 2011 Share January 4, 2011 my NSF time, I never passed my IPPT b4 due to unable to do chin-up. Always stayed back weekend to do remedial training. That time IPPT GOLD was $20 only. After ORD, I bought a chin-up bar and mounted at the bed room door. I pulled and trained when I was free. I passed all my IPPT till MR. A few times got silver $200 too :P. Now ( after 4 years of MR ), jog regularly twice weekly to keep myself fit and healthy.

Rainman 1st Gear January 4, 2011 Share January 4, 2011 dont know leh, i can never find the motivation to run, i'd rather swim or go cycle offroad.. Swimming is a better exercise, but u only feel exhausted after the swim. Strangely for running, it's the "shagness" that makes it intriguing and satisfying.... I know some guys who are actually addicted to running, 8-10km run is like kachang puteh. As for offroad cycling, never got the chance to try, supposed I will need quite a good bike to start off with. Kinnerman 1st Gear February 8, 2011 Share February 8, 2011 During reservist, only got silver for 9 consecutive times till last year. Reckoned it is going to be my last chance for $400, so trained hard for it. Problem station has always been 2.4, so kept training for it by running 6 rounds of stadium. Kept this up for 2-3 times per week for duration of 2months... Finally got gold before MR!

Mazdaowner Moderator February 28, 2011 Share February 28, 2011 Only failed once. Separated from girlfriend. As per topic title, I wonder how many % of people can accomplish this feat.
Zxcvb Turbocharged February 28, 2011 Share February 28, 2011 Before NS, always failed my 2.4km from primary, secondary, poly days. Then come PTP/BMT, kenna trained to achieved Gold in few months. Was very happy. Then throughout Army life, always Gold. After ORD, been maintaining Silver for the past 10 years. The Gold 2.4 timing is just too tough to get even though I jog like 3times a week. Parkingidiot 1st Gear February 28, 2011 Share February 28, 2011 Only failed once. Separated from girlfriend. bro... separating from your girlfriend just because you failed IPPT is taking it a bit too hard right? Can always retake the IPPT, what... So, did you get back together with her after passing it next? Just kidding.... I know what you meant! ↡ Advertisement
