Hi bro

Im upgrading to 18" rims from a C63 AMG

the stock tire size in the front is 235/40/zr18 and the rears are 255/35/zr18

will 225/40R18 fit for both front and back?

or should i follow the stock sizing?

Neutral Newbie

Hi,

Sorry to TS for using his post as i cant start a new thread due to my limited number of posts.

anyone got any idea wat is the consideration if i change the stock tyre 185/65/R15 to 195/50/R15?

Less fuel efficient as more contact with ground?

Thicker tyre harder to cut water compared to thinner width ones? Aqua-planning chances increase?

Inaccurate Speedo reading? By how much?

Unable to actually calculate the real fuel consumption as the speedo reading not accurate?

Please kindly advise as i not very sure about tyres. Only through read up den get to know bout some of these consideration. Thank You

It might help if you state what vehicle you're intending to fit those AMG rims on. Have you considered the following:

- offset

- rim width (the AMG rims vis-a-vis your intended tyre size, 225/40 R18)

Actually, having checked, 225/40 R18 seems to be pretty versatile. You should be able to use on 7.5 to 9.0 rim widths (with 8.0 being the ideal).

195/50/R15 is too small.. the correct size would be 195/60/R15..
