Anyone with insight to predict COE cat A and B for tender closing this Wed?Number of coe

I remember that :o

and the anxiety than as a young chap that the price will keep going up and up and up and I will never ever have a chance to own a car...

After so many years, we have seen COE going down as low as $2.... and realise what some wise ppl say is true..What goes up must come down and what went down will goes up.

So really no need to panic over the recent COE price hike la.. just wait it out, be sensible. [sunny]

Wah decrease in around 400 COEs, thats alot!

Yes, it's quite a lot.

Having said that, most of us will be willing to pay less and wait slightly longer...

But car dealers will have 400 less cars to sell for that month. Meaning they will go all out to compete among themselves to secure the most COE...

End result, COE goes up, car buyer pays much more...

You see the problem now?

Don't forget deales have less cars to sell and the same overheads to cover. Expect margin to go up.

I predict:

Cat A = $32,000

Cat B = $42,000

Any higher I [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Lesser cars to sell, so margin or profit must go up.

Sure that means more of the car price will go towards the gov as Coe and to AD as bigger margins!

Wow, it's must be a bad time to buy car now!

Anyway, just wait for the next recession.

If Singapore pools accept betting for COE, I will put my money on this.

Cat A $32,000

If you know how COE bidding works, you can already tell the COE level from the rebates they're giving. The reserve that they're setting will be higher than this rebate.

komoco

Cat A rebate 30k

Cat B rebate 36k

Mazda

Cat A rebate 32k

Cat B rebate 42k

C&C

Cat A rebate 30k

Cat B rebate 40k

How to be sensible when private property and HDB flat selling like crazy high price. If I made a few hundred $K from property, I don't mind paying extra $10K - $20K for a COE.......$ easy come easy goes :D

What goes up, usually comes down later. I am old enough to have owned a car when COE averaged $50K (though then was driving datsun 100A - now obsolete), and I thought to myself to wait. And waited I did until it was $16K before I bought a new car to satisfy my lust for newness.

Precisely, mature people are more sensible and have the patient to wait, but the youngster can't.

this theory is generally true if you put it on a 10 years graph and look at the trend.

The COE will come down when Govt change the policy again. As to when, only MIW know.
