Looking for cheap spectacles

Maybe you can try go over to Malaysia, over there should be cheaper ba.

I tried n asked around in JB b4.

 

Seems for spec lenses like Progressive its cheaper in SG. They tell me they wil order from SG even.

 

Maybe normal single degree lenses might still get it made cheaper there though.

 

Even their frames good quality type they wil get from SG.

DAISO "Everything S$2" Store have glasses off-the-rack, beside their other range of items.

If I can remember, 3 diff levels of degree, various types of frames.

 

 

Those likely is only for reading glasses.

 

Other for distance, u need to test eyes n special order from the optical shop.

Anybody know which brand of spectacle lenses is good? my optician recommended a few and some more expensive than another. but my brother and i not sure? any suggestions?

Mine is mid range.

 

Frame from Korea abt $100 n it has no memory plastic. bend it n it wil go back to original shape.

 

Lens abt $300 a pair. Clear with anti-glare coating. Progressive. For distance, mid distance n reading.

 

I just use cheap $10 clip-on sunglasses (Polaroid n UV A n B protection) for driving. I prefer the flip-up type so can flip up when enter dark carpark etc.

 

All done in SG. My regular optical shop for abt 40 years already.

I did an Oakley frame + transition lens (not essilor brand, and not super high index ones) at below $400

They are wholesaler and distributor for some spec frame brands (like Oakley, tag, ray ban, etc) and supplier of lens (from japan)

 

can get specs in an hour's time (unless progressive lens need couple of days)

not sure about JB but my relative/friends like to buy frame from there, some even bought 10 frame in one shot but will come back for the len as and when they need for 'fashion change'.

 

progressive len not very ex nowadays, i did mine in Queensway for less than $300 with frame.

 

i also did a few for my kids in one of the spec shop in Mahkota Malacca, no need to worry about collect which they will courier to you in singapore, can save 1/3 of the price.
