So what do you think the insurance company will tell you when you change to a sportscar/supercar and raise your premium?

Ans: Singapore weather too hot! All cars got fire! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Might be some truth.

Think car manufacturer should use Singapore as part of their hot weather testing ground!

Like that can see all the new cars first hand!

i know some car manufacturers test their cars in extreme cold and extreme hot weather, especially in deserts....

but singapore is unique in a way due to hot weather as well as humid climate....

engines don't like such environment to operate....

haha...

Yes hot and humid...the best condition to test cars in Singapore.

So much for those AD who keeps saying acclimatization of authorized delear cars are safer than PI non-singapore specs imports.

Corrected for you.

Manufacturers normally have Big chambers where they can put the whole car inside & test in around -20 to 85 deg Celsius condition. Thats why if the temperature drop below -15 or so, u better warm up your car in your garage for a good 15min at least before moving out.

But of course they also do road tests. While it is relatively easy to do winter testing, with many Northwest Countries with long winter & very low temperature, the opposite is quite tough for European makers. Summer are usually low 20 also, & night is usually still cold. Maybe Spain in summer will be close to our climate? But I seldom heard people run test in Spain. Then again, it probably not as humid as Singapore.

Then again, it still should be so easily get on fire.

Supersonic

Stock cars from factory are highly unlikely to go up in flames.

Usually, those are the ones who do mods, like VS, broquet and what have you.

from the 3rd picture, looks like its the engine which causes the fire to start.. Hmm mayb the owner's in a hurry and rev the engine till redline and park at side of road to attend a meeting?

like that top gear can go eat sai lohhhh. revving till redline doesnt burn anything but petrol. dunno why alot of singaporeans always think hitting redline is bad. yet when they do work. everytime wait until so close to deadline then do properly. same same.
