I'm using Eagle F1 right now.... exact same profile as u r looking..... I have done about 30k+km on it already. Rotated only once.... But mine is the Made in Thai-kok version.

Other tyres that I tried:

Yokohama AD-07

Federal SS595

Bridgestone RE005 or RE001 (Cannot rem)

In terms of dry grip:

1st Place: the AD-07 far surpass all other tyres I tried so far.

2nd Place: Bridgestone

3rd Place: Federal SS595

Last: Eagle F1

In terms of wet grip:

1st place: Bridgestone

2nd place: Federal

3rd place: Eagle F1

Last: AD-07 is almost non-existent. Not sure if they have rectified this with the AD-08.

The least noisy:

1st place: AD-07

2nd place: Bridgestone

3rd place: Eagle F1

Last: Federal SS595

Most expensive:

1st place: AD-07

2nd place: Bridgestone

Joint 3rd: Eagle F1 and SS595

Hard Sidewall:

1st place: Bridgestone

2nd: Federal SS595

3rd: AD-07

Last: Eagle F1

My personal perference:

1st place: Bridgestone

2nd: Federal SS595

Last: Eagle F1

*I won't touch AD-07 due to the poor wet grip. But not sure if the AD-08 has improved or not.

Most likely I will swtich to Bridgestone for my next tyre change.

wow very detail break down, i think the b/s u use is RE001 , the F1 thai u use should be the old f1 GSD3? very sharp looking thread pattern,

quite surprise u perfer 595 over it :)

any way if u doing nromal driving u can skip ad08 LOL, they say it improve its wet weather from ad07, but i think at most 5 % improve ?LOL

but its dry grip no horse run la

I'm on Michelin PS3. Previously on CSC3. PS3 feels very similar to CSC3, but quieter and more comfortable. However on the limits, PS3 feels more predictable than CSC3 but squeals when the CSC3 doesn't. Overall, prefer PS3 for its comfort, silence and predictability. :D

Does PS3 cost almost the same as CSC3?

Hmmm...from most response from bros here and some search, maybe i should narrow down to

Yokohama Advan AD08

or

Eagle F1 Asymm (Provided the sidewall crack issue has been solved)

What are the prices for 225/45/17?

Currently on Bridgestone RE001, very nice and quiet. Gives me the confidence to take the corners. $ well spent I would say.

Might consider the Goodyear f1 asymmetric on my next tyre change, btw anyone can share how much for the german made ones?

I'm on BS RE001 too.

My opinion is this tyre indeed has an excellent grip be it wet or dry.

but I am quite doubtful with the "quiet" statement..

for quiet ride, BS Turanza GR90.

for performance ride, BS Potenza RE001.

Well, quiet compared to some other tyre that I've used before.

Anyone out there can give an opinion in regards to the Bridgestone RE001 and the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric in terms of grip, quietness and price?

People always say that more grippy tyres will be noisier but so far the Bridgestone RE001 has made me feel the grip + the quietness.

If you like the feel of ultimate grip type of tyres, then you should go for either Bridgestone or Yokohama tyres.

Go and feel the difference of the sidewall strength of Goodyear tyres vs the above tyres (AD08 or RE-11R) and you'll see the huge difference.

Do you mean goodyear tyres sidewall are softer compared to bridgestone and yokohama? thanks!

They are too soft for my liking. Don't just take my word for it, go and try feel it urself at the tyre shop. For myself, I always like to look at all ranges tyres/rims whenever I'm at my regular tyre shop for rotation or tyre change.

The SS595 gives me slightly better wet grip compared to the Thai-kok Eagle F1s plus it's sidewall is stiffer. Might be psychologial but that's how I feel. Only problem is the noise of the Federals but that's something that I can live with.

Frankly I do miss the dry grip of my AD07 but unless there is significant improvement of the wet grip in the AD08, I won't touch it. [:p]

I'm using the Thai-kok F1 and my gripe is that it's sidewall is too soft for my liking too.... especially compared to Bridgestone. But I'm not sure how the German F1 Asymm will match up.

Went to the tyre shop i frequent to do wheel cross rotation and asked about some tyres.

The guy there recommended me the following:

Goodyear F1 Asymm

Yokohama S Drive

Bridgestone RE001

All slightly above $200 per tyre for 225/45/17. Hmm...that is within my budget. I know some of you guys here using F1 Asymm and RE001. How about S Drive? Gave up on GR 90 and Advan 08 as the prices were way over what i am willing to pay.
