I know exactly how that feels! Everything also they want to fight, and they're so loud and noisy!

That's one of the reasons why I stopped going on Star Cruise cos always packed full of their kind. Now I cruise on Royal Caribbean, don't have that kind of problem already ; ) and royalcaribbean got special promo pay $3 they upgrade your room to the next cabin type! not bad, eh? The room also bigger and the facilities better!

1st time went on cruise aboard Royal caribbean & was definitely a WOW experience as they called it. Heard the feedback from those who took it & had a great time.

Where food is concerned, no need to fret or Q very long for. Even my mum who is the typical old generation who prefer Asian food had no complaints about the selection available. Though mainly Weatern food, they will offer at least 1 Asian food in their meals eg Laksa, Nasi/Mee Goreng. U can choose to eat at their normal buffet area or eat at restaurant dining area, all free. Never ate so much until full every meal but b'cos the menu changes daily, able to try new things

90% activities are included free in the package ($1.7K for 2 pax due to late booking for 4N5D to Penang & Phuket) except for their shore excursion which I felt pricey. Our group preferred to go by ourselves & still have great time exploring/finding interesting places.

Would say most people we met are families with children/elderly. there are couples but not so much. Activities are catered more towards children especially with performance by Dreamworks cast from Kungfu Panda, Shrek, Puss in Boots, Madagascar etc which the children liked very much

Never felt had to rush for anything even during check-in or departure, everything done in an orderly manner. Would be interesting to know between those who have taken RC compared with other cruise operators

i intend to get onto one this school holidays... not sure which one is good.. esp for young kids like 8yrs.. but the holiday will probably be spoiled if we need to fight for everything we already paid for, machiam like refugees [rifle]

from earlier threads discussed years ago.. it seems like super star cruise ships are prone to have unruly 'talents'.. is it still like that?

how about royal carribean?
some weeks ago wifey saw on tv there's a cruise promo where the children under 12 or 10 goes free with every adult.
she didn't take the details though [crazy] ..
anyone has an idea?

i was looking for a cruise 2 days ago. just want to get the cruise to nowhere leaving friday evening and coming back sunday, but looks like for this year i am too late. wanted to surprise the wife with a short trip.

royal carribean has more of the 3 night cruise which means come back monday morning, which is too difficult (for me at least) since i dont want to apply leave.

try finding those organised by radio DJ or mediacorp artist, at least the organised group are mostly local and they take up big part of the cruise to prevent undesired groups [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

I took Super Star earlier this year. For a 1st time experience, I think it doesn't matter which one you go on board. Kids are kids and they will have fun. There are lots of food. Many activities for children to join in. Cooking class, magic class etc... Casino for me. Just make sure to take the bigger balcony class room. For me if take those without windows, confirm seasick. [sweatdrop]

Service-wise, I have no complaints. Everything went well. [thumbsup]
