Yattokame 4th Gear June 16, 2010 Share June 16, 2010 (edited) Got my tyres from Edmund this morning. The moment I arrived, the 3 staff all jumped out of their seats and attended to me seriously quick (not to extort money from me lah) and checked which tyres I want, size, etc and their recommendations (only upon me asking; NO cross selling or pushy sales talk). After I have confirmed the tyres I wanted they got down to work really fast! Led me to the lounge and got to work; you can see them working on it while relaxing in the air con lounge. Seriously efficient workers. Really like an F1 pitstop LOL. Then Edmund came; chatted for a while. And no extra charges on credit card payments! No pushy sales talk, cross selling etc. Then the best part. Free rotation, free nitrogen for lifetime of tires. I hope you guys will not go there and jam up the place LOL. edit: should be along whitley road.... but it's the stevens road exit along PIE straight after Catholic JC; next to the pet hospital. Biposto Neutral Newbie December 23, 2010 Share December 23, 2010 Went there yesterday. It was very obvious from the beginning that they were there to serve the customer. There were no assumptions, car was jacked up and checked. Being worried that I was going to get "chopped", my fears were put to rest as I was continuously assured that the checks were FOC. All I paid was $30 for the rim washing and nitrogen fill. Lucky for me when they remove the tires I noticed that my tires were in bad shape. Edmund gave a good deal knowing that I was on a tight budget since it was almost x'mas. Good service and value for money!

Only had them on my car which I kept for four months and sold the car. No spare tyre for that car, a MINI cabriolet. What's there not to promote when they provide good service? Yattokame 4th Gear December 24, 2010 Author Share December 24, 2010 Talking about good service without telling us if the price is equally good is kinda useless though. I can't remember how much I paid, but it was slightly lower than what I had enquired from other shops. Anyway, it's near my place so accessibility is also a plus for me. Unltd 5th Gear December 24, 2010 Share December 24, 2010 Talking about good service without telling us if the price is equally good is kinda useless though. The price is higher than places like the PH in AMK or those which are always mentioned, but lower than most bukit timah shops. Some people pay for good service and some only go for low price. Always harping on the price is useless especially on tires, different brands are quoted differently in different shops, there are no such things as cheapest shop, it is always cheapest brand or model of tire can be bought at certain shops. If you try to go only for cheap, you may find yourself paying more thru yr nose for balancing or rotation which was not done properly. There are even cases of nuts not being wound tight enough and falling off.

It's definitely not the cheapest, but Edmund will always try his best to find the best rubbers that FIT your budget.

I bought my second hand tyres from Pitstop 1.5 months ago, I waited for 1.5 hours just to change the 4 tyres. Not only that, they told me I can't use Nets to pay for 2nd hand tyres( So I got to rush to the opposite Esso station to draw cash). That night itself, I discovered that my 2 tyres were punctured, no choice, I went to the shop near my house to check and they told me that the small little "tube" for pumping in air was broken. Pitstop did not help me change new ones since my old ones were old already. Out of 10 points, I will give them 4. The Caltex station tyre shops in Woodlands Road is good, their prices are reasonable . Edited December 24, 2010 by Funny88

There is no rotation to needed, they did performed ceremonial practice to impress (no mention of any more critical like wheel balancing, which should be standard practice). Perhaps next time you may want them to do wheel balancing for free when you buy tire

If you have an issue with them you bring it to their face and post it here; than nitpick on everything I write. No spare tyre for that car, a MINI cabriolet. What's there not to promote when they provide good service? was there last month to do the $30 rotation, not a bad job, plus they fill up nitrogen for me on all the tires and told me to go back for free refill each month. The boss is indeed a great salesman But I do remember they don't carry Kumho tyres leh, I asked Edmond and he told me he don't carry such tyres. Yattokame 4th Gear December 24, 2010 Author Share December 24, 2010 Maybe I should put a disclaimer here. I do not work for pitstop tires, and I get no commission from them for recommending their services. I actually find this childish to be putting up a disclaimer like this for I believed forum users here should generally be mature and wise enough to draw their own conclusions, and find out for themselves the extent of the claims. Should anyone here have an issue with them please bring it to them. If you don't like the way I compliment them, too bad. What clicks for me may not work for you. You can also recommend your preferred tire shop in another thread. I find it a surprise to find this 6 month old thread being revived when I've even changed car (and the tires with them in october, barely 4 months old). Have even forgotten about this thread. ↡ Advertisement
