Yattokame 4th Gear December 24, 2010 Author Share December 24, 2010 was there last month to do the $30 rotation, not a bad job, plus they fill up nitrogen for me on all the tires and told me to go back for free refill each month. The boss is indeed a great salesman But I do remember they don't carry Kumho tyres leh, I asked Edmond and he told me he don't carry such tyres. maybe not anymore? I do know at least one of my friends bought his Kumho there;quite a few months ago though. ↡ Advertisement
Tianmo Hypersonic December 24, 2010 Share December 24, 2010 Maybe I should put a disclaimer here. I do not work for pitstop tires, and I get no commission from them for recommending their services. I actually find this childish to be putting up a disclaimer like this for I believed forum users here should generally be mature and wise enough to draw their own conclusions, and find out for themselves the extent of the claims. Should anyone here have an issue with them please bring it to them. If you don't like the way I compliment them, too bad. What clicks for me may not work for you. You can also recommend your preferred tire shop in another thread. I find it a surprise to find this 6 month old thread being revived when I've even changed car (and the tires with them in october, barely 4 months old). Have even forgotten about this thread. take it easy leh bro, relax relax [laugh]

Felipe 3rd Gear December 24, 2010 Share December 24, 2010 I bought my second hand tyres from Pitstop 1.5 months ago, I waited for 1.5 hours just to change the 4 tyres. Not only that, they told me I can't use Nets to pay for 2nd hand tyres( So I got to rush to the opposite Esso station to draw cash). That night itself, I discovered that my 2 tyres were punctured, no choice, I went to the shop near my house to check and they told me that the small little "tube" for pumping in air was broken. Pitstop did not help me change new ones since my old ones were old already. Out of 10 points, I will give them 4. The Caltex station tyre shops in Woodlands Road is good, their prices are reasonable . I've had bad experiences with buying used tyres. Things usually go wrong after awhile. The Caltex one you bought from were used tyres? Anyway, recommendations are just based on one's experience. We just have to try and see if it's good. From what i've seen, not everyone will experience the same thing at the same place. If it works for you, then use it. If it doesnt, then try some place else. Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear December 24, 2010 Share December 24, 2010 free rotation is for subsequent visits, if you can read between the lines. wheel balancing was also done; sorry if I failed to mention that. with all due respect you can always go to any other shop. what I did was just recommending a good service I have received. If you have an issue with them you bring it to their face and post it here; than nitpick on everything I write. Many thanks for your clarification. Without which their service is below satisfaction. I am glad you visited a respectable shop. Merry Christmas

What do you mean by first saying your tires are punctured then saying the small "tube" was broken? So is it punctured or leaking? Did you approach Pitstop and did Pitstop offer you any recourse? You purchased 2nd hand tires and expect new tires in return? Our of 10 points, I will give you 10.... For even considering 2nd hand tires....

You purchased 2nd hand tires and expect new tires in return? Our of 10 points, I will give you 10.... For even considering 2nd hand tires.... Yes, I bought 4 pcs of second hand tyres from Pitstop as they posted the tyres here in the forum. One of the bro pointed out in the earlier reply that the "small Tube" is called "inflation valve". I got my second hand tyres from Pitstop around 1pm, and waited for them to install the 4 tyres till 2.35pm and after that I rushed for my meetings. At around 8.30pm while on the way home, someone on the road pointed to me that my 2 tyres were flat, immediately I drove to the Caltes station near to my house, after checking, the uncle told me that the inflation valve were broken. That means, Pitstop did not even change for me 4 new inflation valve or they used old ones on my tyres. The uncle told me usually when people change tyres, they will change new ones for customers be it new or second hand tyres. That is my point, Pitstop should be careful and be more observant in future. I am driving a Wish and not a commercial vehicles, out of 10 points, I will also give you 10 cos you think only people who are driving commercial vehicles uses 2nd hand tyres. LOL Of course I fully understand that there are people who got very good services from them and I do respect that. I am just sharing my own true experience to people out there so that brothers out there can compare and judge themselves. Uhmmm....m u didn't even seem to attempt to inform pitstop about the problem, so how u knw if they were trying to do u in or they would have rectified yr prob? How can they be more careful if they don't even knw u have a prob and did not feedback? Did the caltex uncle also tell u that usually, ppl buy new tires? Hope yr penny pinching does not result in anything serious, and to not even know u were running flat, errrmmmmmm...... Definately u score 10 outta 10 for being a good driver! Roverboy 1st Gear December 25, 2010 Share December 25, 2010 I been to pitstop b4 for the 30 buck tyre rotation and nitrogen gas, service is good but price may not be the cheapest.. But I am a happy customer
Mcf777 Turbocharged December 25, 2010 Share December 25, 2010 wah lau, for safetly reason, 2nd hand tyre must be 99% new when the new owner had just collected the car from the agent and replace/trade-in on the 1st day. i would rather buy cheap korean or XYZ cheap tyre than buying a 2nd hand tyre. It was already 8.30pm and Pitstop is at least 20 mins drive from my place, do you think I should go back to Pitstop to get them rectify the problem? I am sure they will change new sets for me FOC but I don't think I can drive another 20 mins to Stevens Road and wait another 1.5 hours for them to rectify the problem for me right? Of course 90% of the drivers change new tyres, but since I am not going to drive the car for too long and Pitstop claimed that the tyres are still quite new and after calculation, I am happy with the price , of course I will choose 2nd hand tyres. I saved at least 60%. Yes, thank you for the compliment, indeed I am quite a good driver cos I drives carefully and I don't speed. Once again, I stated very clearly that I am just sharing my own experience, so I am sure it will benefit others when they are looking for tyres, if I offended people here who are from Pitstop, I am sorry, I just have to be truthful. Don't think u should have went back to pitstop if 20 mins away, but u could have given them a call. Maybe they will find a solution fr u like tow fr free or something. But did u feedback at all? Seems like it's a no. There r 2 things which as a good driver u don't scrimp on, tires and brakes. U definately driveS carefully with 2nd hand tires. Honestly, I m not associated with pitstop, in fact I'm cheap and go PH in amk. I m actually just stirring s--t with u cause I don't like funny keyboard warriors who buy 2nd hand tires and when have a prob, does not inform the tire shop to rectify then come in and complain, telling others usually this and usually that. Wat do u knw about tires if u can't tell its running flat and that fr gods sakes buy new.
Chrispie 5th Gear December 25, 2010 Share December 25, 2010 (edited) i got my tires from pitstop as well. and after 10k km, i went for tyre rotation. My expectations was very simple. They take out the wheels, and swop their places. Refill N2 gas, done. off i go. But what they did was to take out my wheels, do balancing again.. and... they cleaned my rims inside out. Really WASHING it... you can imagine how black the inside of the rims were. Then put back the wheel, refill N2 gas... tyre shine, and i can go. No charges. Way beyond my expectations. I didnt buy top end tyres, so for the services rendered, i was pleasantly surprised. Edited December 25, 2010 by Chrispie
Skateboard Neutral Newbie December 25, 2010 Share December 25, 2010 Was there last Thursday - Edmund has a very salesman kind of "sey". Despite that, I got the essential services I need - and fairly happy with the services rendered. ↡ Advertisement
