There are still quite a few starlets and charades on the roads... Saw a Lancer G1 just the other day. It looks a bit out of place though I must say it was a handsome car in its day [wave]

My Dad had a G2 Accord. Whicn unfortunately burst into flames one day about 10 years ago. [:(]

He replaced it with a 323 Astina with the pop up lights. It had a 1.8 engine instead of the more common 1.6, which made it all the more rare sight (I believe only about 20 plus were sold in Singapore). That was a fantastic car.

Ah, fond memories.

My wife had the subaru viki once - what a nippy car! It was so small that you could even drive under the HDB void deck to drop passengers off whenever it rained if you wanted to. It was very, very economical with fuel, like a motorbike on four wheels. [laugh]

You can never find Lada Samaras in Singapore anymore, most can't even survive 5 years.

This car is the "Chery QQ" of the late 80s/early 90s. Damn cheap and you get what you pay. But at least it's bigger than the QQs.

Remember during the 60's there are a lot of "Pak Hon Chia" using Isuzu cars running ard Queenstown. Anyone can flag them. Think is abt 30 cents to fifty cts better than taking bus. [:)]

I saw a Datsun 120Y running on the road a couple of weeks ago. What about Holden? We have a few Holden in our land years ago. Think all has been scrapped.

Interesting. In my family's car history, we've had:

Toyota Starlet (my first car)

Subaru Viki (my mom's/family's car)

Hyundai Excel (ditto)

We didn't have a Datsun 120, but my dad did have a 240Z once, then a Nissan 200SX (which I "inherited" from him).
