Wt_know Supersonic August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 (edited) definitely not just for a free lift la. otherwise, why he has a M16 with him. i do feel that it's the media coverage and police persistence that "aggravated" him to KILL hostages the ending could be better if police/media cut him some slack. perhaps, a few more hours he (gunmen) might just surrender. the innocent tourist is the victim of the whole saga. they do not deserve being held up as hostage and certainly not deserve to die. i pity those tourists man.... and apparently, the gunman had just wanted a lift on the bus, but the tour guide and driver refused, thus leading to this hostage situation.... hmm.... SimonTan 2nd Gear August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 I feel sad for the dead tourist. The authorities are really really kok! This is just a "I want my job back" kind of request. A simple "yes, u get your job back. Report for work tomorrow" would have settled the issues. Knn that guy did not asked for impossible things like $1billion or a visa and air ticket to singapore, or release of prisoners in Libya/Iran, etc. This is the simplest of hostage taking where he only want his job amd dignity back. It makes me wonders whether the police really has something to hide, and would rather sacrifice the hostage taker and the tourists to keep it under carpet. Very very dirty politic at work! Wt_know Supersonic August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 somewhat agree with other comments that why the police is so eager to strike and force entering the bus. isn't all the heroic movie show that "hostages" is the upmost critical consideration in any strike attempt. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 their police aren't trained like ours here.... different training programmes.... different training conditions.... can't expect all of them to think alike don't you???

Westender Neutral Newbie August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 So sad, was watching CNN just now. Those dumb police should be stone to death, every single one of them. How stoooopid can they be. Go take a look at the footage and judge for yourself.
Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 then Hong Kong should start claiming money from the police already....
Albeniz Turbocharged August 23, 2010 Share August 23, 2010 The hostage taker was an ex-policeman who demanded for his position be resumed. Why can't they just pay him the lip-service, pretend to agree to his terms, get the hostage freed and then arrest him? He was provoked and antagonized because they brought his family members into the picture. That was what I hear from theChannel U/8 news. ↡ Advertisement
