I rent movies in DVD format to watch, so should I buy a new DVD player or a Blu-Ray player (as this is the new technology) to replace it? This player selling $99 at Giant....can buy? I have a Philip Blu-ray player too. Although different model, I think most functions are simliar. It can play Blu-Ray, DVD and even VCD. It can play most Divx files too. Do take note that Philips Players are virtually unlockable, even online. So if you buying BD from UK or other weird region take note. fortunately US blu-rays are playable. BTW I assume you have a ful 1080p HD TV right? Be sure to get HDMI cables(cheapest one will do) else waste money buying a BD player. I even tested it with DVD disc that is region locked to Region 1. Somemore, it is the few BD player that can play back RMVB. It is about 400+.
