Aiya.....$5000 is like overtrade.

Just same gimmicks but different name.

You go supermarket....they play the game everyday.

Sometimes the discount I see is like 5cents or 20cents, and they make it like they are super duper discount and giving customers super deals.....

all races have good and bad financial planners

sometimes due to the salesmen throwing some funny ideas and schemes into the buyer's heads, they get confused and drawn into it for the cheap thrill of fast cash or a quick stop gap solution to their problem without disregard of the resultant consequences

many of these are those forced by peer pressure to have a car to impress and thus fit in with their peers

like it or not, thats why u see certain brands have a very loyal "racial following"

If you opt out full settlement package then - Brand New Bravo @ discounted price of $88,999.

WTF! For just a few $K more (after discount), one can get the Alfa Romeo MiTo 155 BHP - and that's a real Italian deal, compared to a FIAT.

Or for that matter, still focusing on Conti cars, for less than that, one can get the new Renault Megane hatchback, or the new Citroen C3 hatchback. Both are better designed cars, compared to FIAT, IMHO. The handling and ride of the French cars (garnered from their many WRC wins, a la Sebastian Loeb & Co.) will put any FIAT to shame.

Add just $10K more and one can get the MINI ONE Stratford. That is one tough cookie, with doors that slam like a refrigerator and BMW technology ... not to mention its iconic presence.

Or or, a VW Golf 1.2TSI, Jetta, or the Polo 1.2TSI ... each and everyone with a snail inside?

With all these stiff Conti competition, the FIAT prices in SG really cannot cut butter.

No wonder there are so few of 'em on the roads. I think the AD should really rethink their marketing strategy and business plan to sell. And I mean to really sell FIATs in SG.

$90K for a FIAT Bravo ... anyone???

i wouldnt say across the board poor management

poor financial management is linked to poor education

with proper education and understanding the risks of poor financial management, it will reduce such problems

where you heard from? got any stats to show?

Don't need stats to prove the fact. If u go to any Meet-the-People session, u will be able to see many Malay residents seeking help from MP.

Many low income family have many children due to poor family planning.

Many middle income family like to overspent on big ticket items (Car, HDB, renovation, furniture, electrical appliances, etc) & credit cards. So when they lose their job, they can't afford to pay off the loan installment cos they don't have any saving.

$90K for a FIAT Bravo ... anyone???

I dunnoe if u've driven the bravo b4 but i haf and its pretty gd. Not the best but still pretty gd. Alfa's are essentially based on Fiat developed platform and will almost feel identical. Alfa's are probably tuned to be little more sporty.

And havin driven the Mini One too i can say power is seriously lacking versus the Bravo. It only has build quality and its image goin for it. Tho it is more fun to throw around. But havin owned a focus for a few years, handling without power can be quite annoying.

But i do however agree wif u regarding Fiat's pricing. It juz doesn't make sense pricing it so damn high.

Poor financial planning is a common problem among Malay.

As a malay i kinda agree wif u. Haf quite a few frens goin into debt juz because they want a car. Growing up wif a dad whos into business and investments and a mum whos in the financial industry has tot me more about financial planning. And i am truly thankful for tat.

Have u driven a fiat bravo before ? Your humble opinion is based on what?

Of course. Test drove the Bravo and Punto but cannot make myself like the super-light electric power steering. No tactile feel at all. Its just like playing one of those Nintendo or Sega games with a plastic steering wheel. Numb and light. No fun.

FIAT's ride are comparatively thrashy IMHO, versus the superb aplomb of the French cars. This must must really give it to the French. You can charge toward a road hump and glide over it, without even having to slow down. Citroen especially good.

The non-TC engined Bravo has no power. No good. The TC'd Bravo has the power, but no feel (driver-car connection). Sadly.

Interior plastics look and feel el cheapo - a lot of black, brittle plastics used.

Gear stick feel and engagement very entry level - don't give you the solid conti feel that you'd get from certain other marques.

Above are just my personal opinions of the car, without prejudice, after test driving the FIAT Bravo.

The Bravo that I test drove stalled on the road and could not restart again. Big joke right?

Anyways, I agree with most brothers here that for the relatively low OMV, the selling price of FIATs in Singapore are way off the mark.

Instant depreciation from Day#1!!!

A driver with skills will bring out the best of the car. A driver with no skills will put the blame on the car. No need to be offended with wat people have to say. I'm driving a Punto, very good handling car. Anytime can take on 207 GTi, Renault clio R27 and Citroen C4 VTS.
