Nothing wrong with replica wheels what, sure they might be heavier, and might not be as strong, but if you don't track the car, it shouldn't be all that bad.

 

Look at it this way, one set of 18 x 9 te37s cost almost 3k second hand, and rota grids cost what, 1.2k, thats less than half price of the original.

 

hmm okay la, fairer a bit, compare 17 x 8 since rota grids dont come in 18in, or do they?

 

still, thats 50% savings.

Replicas are cheap because of inferiority in materials, production and QC. If budget is an issue, by all means go for the cheapest replica rims available. If the rims fail with your whole family on board, it's all between you and them how you justify the "smart" purchase.

 

But it is really frustrating to see justification of the choice by things like "if you don't track and Singapore roads are relatively pothole free, no point getting a non-replica at much higher price"

 

Very similar to those who say

 

"Singapore how fast can you go with all the traffic lights and speed cameras? It is stupid to buy a porsche or ferrari. My $50,000 XXX can still catch up with your $400,000 YYYYY at the next traffic light also!"
