I watched both

 

BSG was way better. The original seemed a lil too treky. This was more about the journey than where they have been.

 

V seems slow for the first season, but its definately a character, and storyline buildup. Waiting for season 2 where it should be a lot quicker and more action packed.

 

If you like these shows, you'll prolly like Caprica as well. It's the prequel to BSG, as in how the first cylon came about, all the way to how the first cylon war started

The old one - the original mini-series - was fantastic. Brilliant allusions to Nazi Germany, great writing and believable acting.
