Shitty Service From Singtel

You need to take up their MIO package. It's different from applying one at a time.

Like buying a Mac set meal to have discount, instead of ordering a la carte for the same things.

Besides my earlier complaint to Singtel, I just came to know from someone this morning that those whose subscribed, under one name, to Singtel's Mio TV, residential line, BB and mobile line are entitled to a 30% discount on their total monthly bill? I have never enjoyed such a discount neither is it offered to me despite having all these Singtel services under my name. Is it true and any Singtel subscriber enjoying such discount and would like to clarify on the terms and conditions before I shoot another complain to Sinktel? Thank you.

you need to have 4 mobile line with ST together with the Mio home plan to enjoy the 30% discount on mobile bill.

I had a shock when I was billed for mobile data for one of my handphones in my latest bill. In fact, I had already asked Singtel to disable the GPRS sometime last year when I had a few consecutive bills with mobile data for the same number that I did not use. After the disabling the GPRS, I have had many months of "peace" until now. [mad] Spoke with their customer service gal and she said the record showed that I had asked to reinstate my GPRS, which is not true. I never did as I don't see a need to as my wife, who uses this number, is always at home using wifi or the PC. Or, she said, we could have reinstated the GPRS using a set of code. I dun even know that I could reinstate GPRS on my own, let alone know the correct code to use. She could only offer to reduce the data charge by 50%, which I am not satisfied at all. In fact, my wife has always been very careful when using her mobile and always ensure that her data roaming and GPRS is always at "OFF" position eversince we were billed for non-usage last year and now the same thing happened. [mad] [mad]

I wrote a stinging complain to Singtel telling them that I have had enough of this rubbish and will port my number and other mobile numbers to another service provider if the issue is not resolved to my satisfaction.

Oh my god, how can such coincedence happen:

I spoke to one of the CSG (cust-Service Gal) and she told me exactly that we (my son) can used a set of code to reactivate the GPRS, which of course we dont even know the code nor that this can be done. It is real idiot that says such thing. You be charge for something that you never used. I had even personally deleted al lthe GPRS setting that they have set for you when you received the new phone. It is a shame that people are paying for something that they dont even know that they will be charged and this to me is just plain day light robbery w/o reservation. After I make a big fuss was then all the charges waived. I am not going to pay for something that I never used.

what I can think of is... even after you delete your GPRS setting.... a while later... it will convinently auto resend you the setting... once you did not read carefully and press ok.... your setting will be back to your phone and there you have it... charge until you also dont know.....

Hmmm.. I've never had any such problems in my 10+yrs with Singtel..

Everyone in my home is under ST, including internet and MIO home.. so far, their customer service has not let me down.. there was once that i am subscribed to some MioTV channels with 12mth contract, costs 20+/mth.. called in to complain..and they insist that i activated the service myself.. after some ding dong ding dong, they agree to cancel the service without any cancellation fees..

In fact, my monthly phone bill is cheaper than my basic subscription fees..

i also enjoyed this thing.. key is, you gotta subscribe to their Mio Home plan.. Comes with SNBB, MioTV and mobile lines.. with 4 or 5 lines under the same address, all the mobile lines get 30% off monthly subscription plan.. that's how my monthly phone bill(average $30) is cheaper than my subscription fees($38 for 3g flexi lite)..

and to add on, what i like about MioTV is that it's completely free if you don't subscribe to anything on it.. unlike SH CableTV, there is no basic plan.. even the set top box rental is free..

I had a shock when I was billed $209.63 for mobile data for one of my handphones in my latest bill. You ask Singtel. They tell me even if I disable GPRS, once you accidentally sent an MMS or something, it automatically turns on the GPRS...

And you start all over again.

The truth is that this kind of "data" undetected is a cash cow for the telcos. They are obviously NOT going to help you.

Imagine how many months of phone call you need to rack up such a huge amount of money which "data" can collect.

Hi all,

I had another unpleasant screw-up from SingTel recently. I had done a re-contract a year ago but few days ago I noticed that ST has been charging me the Caller ID where it is suppose to be free for 2 year when I re-contract. I raise this issue with ST expecting a refund or credit into my next bill but the answer I got is shocking.

Yes. The s--t thing is singtel gotta pay for caller-id!!! this is so so duh!! Lucky mine is free as i'm on mio home package. those dat take line only gotta pay. seriously, paying for caller-id is so 1990s already, next month already year 2011.

but seriously, those of you on smartphones (eg iPhone), it sort of defeat the purpose of having it if you dun have a data plan.

Once my friend lost his phone while outstation, had on clear his current outstanding bill (not due yet).

Request for a new sim card and ST highjack him for his payment.

No payment, no sim.

All these for a 20years old client???

"We apologies for the mistake we made but we are not able to do a refund to you since it is already a year. What we could do is to start the 2 year free Caller ID with immediate effect!!!" I query that what if I decide to change operator once my contract is done in 1 year time or give me a discount voucher to buy equipment and ST reply is that due to different dept. operation, they are also not able to help!!!

W T F?

Im cutting all relations with Singtel

let me share a recent experience with you guys on Starhub

they screwed up my bill and didnt give me the hubclub discount despite repeated calls so i shot an email to their Head of Customer Relations and cc the cust svc dept, their reply was very swift and they investigated and refunded me the proper amount without any hesitation!

kudos to Starhub [thumbsup] Its not so much about the money but the thoughtfulness and their willingness to make things right. This is something that Singtel does not have.

Well, you shot an email to their Head of Customer Relations, obviously they had to do something about it. For the rest who didn't, they still have to endure substandard service from the CSO.

the issue is because they subcontract the call centres to malaysian centres and companies who dont give a s--t

Telco Staff moves around. So if the one telco service sucks, the other two are not so far off, whole telco industry is like quite small.

I use to be with M1 for more than 10 years. Not those super high usage type but avg $80-120 per month type due to phone calls.

Got nothing for renwal, once portability was introduced, I switch back to Singtel. Took the Mio home plan since I was using Singnet all these years.

But I never watch as my family members like to watch cable tv.

In fact, I just recontract with Singtel and still got all the 'goodies'.

I think it's easier to deal with only one telco that sucks then with all 3.

On 14th December 2010, I received a SingTel Reminder to pay a bill with cut-off date: 09/12/2010, the Reminder dated : 10/12/2010. No bill mailed to me for payment earlier/yet (so I can not pay before the Reminder arrived). A late payment fee mentioned in Reminder. Either its SingTel new business strategy or some staff not happy inside SingTel

In fact, this number was ported over to Singtel from M1 almost 2 years ago and once the contract is over in Jan 11, I will probably port it back to M1 or SH. My own line, which has data plan, will follow suit in 2 years time while another number will be cancelled by next year. Good riddance to Singtel. [mad]

My mobile transported from SH last year, now also got into trouble over non-delivery of bill

i just got an N8 but had problems setting up the web access for the phone. I was using an old simm card which had no dataplan but i have since singed up a dataplan when getting the N8.

i visited the ideas site and found the site that sends the grps setting for the phone but the website had its own problems which made it unable to send me the codes.

so i called ST and asked them to send me the codes. But when i told the girl that i am using N8, she immediately slammed the door on me saying that ST DOES NOT SUPPORT NOKIA phone technical issues !!! they only support Blackberry and iphone. Then she directed me to call NOKIA service center instead.

I told her that i found the ST website that has the codes and only wanted her to send me the codes but she kept insisting that it was NOKIA's problem and she cannot do anything about it.

So i called NOKIA and although the guy there tried to be helpful, he was not able to solve my problem. He was only able to help me access wifi.

then i called ST again, this time another girl told me almost the same thing that they can't support NOKIA... but this time she suggested using the SMS send to request for the codes instead. Again, this did not work.

so finally i sent ST and email and the next day they replied - followed with a sms reply as well as the code settings via sms.

hmm ... seems that ST CS does not even know what they are doing.

my next issue : i am on the Flexi AMPed plan ... but surprise, surprise ... i dun hav free access to the AMPed website !!
