Michellin Tyre checks...really necessary

i am think to going to tyre check tomorrow at SPC Punggol, is it necessary? i'm a stupid driver who does not know anything about cars.

 

my car tyres are from Michellin

The main objective of organizing the free tyre checks is to "encourage" motorists to change their tyres on the spot, to Michelin tyres of course. They will offer comments like : uneven wear not obvious to eyes, thread getting thinner, wet weather braking, safety. Even if you dun change on the spot, you will feel very uneasy. Just like consult fengshui master, but dun follow advise, cannot sleep well.

I am sure they will hire some sexy ladies to motivate you.

 

Go for the check and see how inaccurate my above opinions compared to actual scenario.

They had one at SPC Siglap which is around the corner from my place, that I went for.

 

They gave me green light for all four tires. The sexiest lady was this girl who was doing the tyre pressure checks in the same attire as all the Michelin staff.

 

IMHO it was a straightforward safety check. The only "promotion" was the Michelin branding.

 

P.S. There were no tyre changing facilities. Just a van with the goodie bags, and the staff.

What most car owners need most is regular checks on tyres, battery, coolant, brake fluid, steering fluid, engine oil, transmission fluid as these are all parts of the total preventive maintenance.If correctly done there will be very few roadside breakdowns.

hahahaha....i think u r wrong leh....most car owners so "tai hong" to fork out some downpayments for their cars, pay 100s to 1000s of $$$ as monthly installment, pay insurance in high 100s to 1000s.....so when come to these maintenance thingy, they are trying to achieve total preventive maintenance to their pockets as much as possible.....
