I know ,I have been associated with the auto industry since the late 70's. I am always trying to introduce competitive priced tools to shop owners to solve their low productivity problems. The first powered vacuum oil changer " Kitajima" from Japan was introduced to Singapore market in the late 1970's and heavily demonstrated to most of the oil service stations. Not well accepted at that time as labour was then very cheap and the mech just refuse to think out of the box .The problem is further compound by shop owners, who are just not ready for that type of investment as the word productivity is very much a unknow word even with the management.

No, it's very simple if you have the right tool. Use a manually operated oil extractor, no need to go under yr car.

but this vaccum can suck up how deep, we also need to change oil filter too so in the end car have to jack up too

can go to autobacs if you are in either their area. they charge like $16 (oil change + oil filter change) if you bring your own materials. if you buy from autobacs and change it there its only half the price

to me, vacuum is better than draining. I tried both and vacuum seem to suck out more than draining, when I did vacuum, it took out 3.5L of oil, but draining only manage 3.2L, but than WS was using a big electric vacuum, not so sure about the manual one, maybe getting one to try it out later.

 

vacuum only can apply to some makes, not all cars can vacuum, just like some bros here mention, it depends on where your oil filter is, if you cannot reach the oil filter from the top than no point liao.

 

for my optra estate, can reach and change from the top, so can vacuum.

Draining hot oil is very dangerous especially if you are laying in a very confine head space.
