Wind30 Turbocharged October 5, 2010 Author Share October 5, 2010 (edited) To enter the carpark, go to the middle lane... cos the left lane is forever jammed with taxis as they queue up to the taxi stand infront... dun worri the taxi will not block the entrance, they will stop behind the entrance.... Either the guard there allow only say 3 taxis in the stand, and tell the rest of the taxis not to wait along the left lane. but alot of taxi drivers v stubborn n want to queue/wait on left lane... if the middle lane cannot turn into carpark, then cars who want to park at paragon will hav to wait for a long long time for the cabs infront of him to clear.... unless there r alot of people waiting for cabs.. so you are those idiots that jam up the roads for your personal convenience. do you know this causes a jam so big that it goes all the way back to CTE cairnhill exit??? Hello you are not supposed to wait in the middle lane.... I think we should all call in traffic police hotline 1800 - 547 1818 to catch such errant drivers And the LTA hotline 1800 - 2255 582 to maybe build a divider so people cannot turn into Paragon. LTA is quite responsive. http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showto...p;#entry3401484 They fixed my previous complaint within like 2-3 months. maybe because a lot of people from MCF called? I do think if enough people call, they will fix the paragon jam as they spend sooo much money rerouting the roads there a few years back to relieve the congestion but it is still being screwed up by inconsiderate drivers trying to get into paragon. C3p0 Neutral Newbie October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 sunnycrowe and Mockngbrd is right. There are only 3 lanes in front of Paragon; the right lane is for doing a right turn back to Cairnhill only - cannot go straight using this lane, hence that lane is usually quite empty; the left lane is always jam by taxis waiting to pick up passengers at Paragon taxi stand. Hence as a result, all cars - be it heading towards CTE or trying to turn left into Paragon carpark, has to use the middle lane. so you are those idiots that jam up the roads for your personal convenience. do you know this causes a jam so big that it goes all the way back to CTE cairnhill exit??? Hello you are not supposed to wait in the middle lane.... I don't think the jams are caused by cars trying to turn into Paragon carpark. This is because the taxis will leave a gap for these cars to turn left into Paragon. The causes of the jam are more likely the poor design of the roads, too many cars in Singapore, taxis queuing, pedestrians taking their time to cross the small pedestrian crossing between Paragon and that hotel (Crown Prince?), traffic light taking long time to turn green because has to give priority to the main traffic along Orchard Road, etc. Hence sunnycrowe is not an idiot as you had mentioned in your post. And no one has "wait in the middle lane" as you mentioned becase the entrance to the road to Paragon is not block by taxis - only the lane is. As you said, the only lane open is the middle lane. But some idiot will be WAITING in the middle lane because he cannot turn into paragon for many reasons. like taxi blocking them, some guy alighting, or whatever reason. When that happens it jams up the whole area because of this bottle neck. I don't bedruge them from turning into paragon from the middle lane if they don't stop and wait there. But many times you see people waiting in the middle lane, trying to cut into paragon. ASK our friends here who turn into paragon from middle lane. How many times they have to wait in the middle lane, even a little, before they can get into paragon. But trying to cut into paragon from the middle lane, they are making the traffic move like 10 times slower. The middle lane if smooth doesn't jam up at all. best is they put up a divider preventing middle lane from turning into paragon and you will see the traffic smooth and nice. I see this all the time in singapore. People trying save their own personal time but causes a jam that waste everyone's time. Just to save 3 minutes of your time, you cause a jam that makes 100 cars stuck for like 10 minutes. Brilliant. Besides. the taxis are the ones in the wrong. We should get the taxis to move. 2 wrongs really do not make 1 right.... Edited October 6, 2010 by Wind30
